I copied this post off the B5 LotR official site, one of their admins posted

Looks like the official publication date has finally been set - according to news on the Bloombury magazine site, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be published in Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia and in the English language in many countries on 21st June 2003.

At least we'll be getting plenty of stuff for the long wait. According to the article, The Order of the Phoenix is "over one third longer than the previous book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".

How were you able to get that to come up Iz? I tried Harry Phoenix and it didn't come back with anything. When I tried Harry Potter 5, it came back and said no date known. Same thing with Amazon.com, except it recognized Harry Phoenix.

Well according to scifiwire...it is 21st June 2003, and it is more than a third long at 255,000 words compared with 191,000 words in Goblet...

(more on this in the bk section.....)

When is it coming to NZ?
In other news....

:)

Like this, for instance.

David Thewlis has been cast to play Professor Lupin. I am not all that familiar with him, but saw him in The Island of Dr. Moreau (he played the castaway who discovers Moreau's bizarre world) and he apparently was also in Dinoptopia.

Chamber Is All-Time No. 3

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has grossed an estimated $568.2 million so far internationally, overtaking Jurassic Park as the third-highest-grossing international release of all time, the ScreenDaily.com Web site reported. The sequel took in about $7.1 million over the weekend of Jan. 24 and just over a million admissions from 4,000 screens in 53 territories, the site reported.

Chamber now ranks behind number two Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone ($649.6 million) and Titanic ($1.2 billion).

DK: Well it may pass the first one, but it won't even get close to Titantic...

WooHoo, Chamber of Secrets VHS is at home waiting for me to get off work. Actually very surprising to me it was so easy to find. I expected not to be able to buy it for a couple weeks without Pre-Ordering. I really do need to get a DVD Player, there's so much more stuff on DVDs then on VHS.

Good for you, Sindatur! I had a message this morning that mine are being shipped. I ordered both Stone and Chamber and to save postage had them shipped together.

One of the first we bought was Galaxy Quest.

My Chamber of Secrets DVD arrived today and I've watched about 2/3 of it so far.

Would you believe, I havent watched it yet? I watrched all the others, but not Harry. I think Im waiting for a good stretch of time that I can use togth. I had to split the other movies between meals and my 5 yr old, who isn't quite ready for Reign of Fire.

He loved "The Never Ending Story" and so did Karina and I. I could watch that movie once a month. Brings out the kid in ya and makes ya pick up the book you havent finished reading yet.

I remember the first time I saw Neverending. My kids were little. When the end came (not telling in case it would spoil it for someone) the whole theater audience cheered- it was spontaneous.
