Ohhh.Neat :) good eyes Miku!i also watch the new cartoon x-men evolution (i'm a big kid!!!:P) and Beast is in those as a teacher who has just inherited his powers and is stuggling with them like the kids (well to an extent he suffers then gets over it!;))

AICN reports that Director Peyton Reed has left the much anticipated "Fantastic Four" comic adaptation. Reed recently called Producer Avi Arad and indicated he had to leave the film, but Arad confirms its still headed for a late 2004 release and various other directors have already expressed interest.

Marvel To Produce Own Films?

Marvel Enterprises is exploring a move into film production to develop more projects based on its library of about 4,700 comic-book characters and retain equity in the resulting movies, Variety reported. Marvel will roll out an agenda that includes producing its own mid-budget films and direct-to-video productions revolving around some of its lesser-known characters, financed primarily by third parties, the trade paper reported.

In addition to next summer's Spider-Man 2, Fox is due to open Fantastic Four in December 2004, though the movie may miss that date because it has yet to find a director or final script, the trade paper reported.

I think MOST of the Marvel movies were good. In X-Men 3(if theres gonna be one) I would love to see Gambit and Apocalypse. Daredevil was pretty sweet, while X2 was pretty good(Nightcrawler did all the sweet stuff!!!) The Hulk was a BIG letdown. It took at least an hour and a half to even see Hulk for the first time. The biggest letdown yet is Blade 2. It had good action, but it quickly turned into part one.

This is the overview of Blade 2:

1.A new enemy emerges.
2.Blade teams up with vamps.
3.Blade gets hurt.
4.The vamps need Blade's blood for some experiment.(Does that ring a bell?)
5.Blade needs blood.
6.Blade gets blood, and is now UNSTOPPABLE!(Oh boy! Blade got some blood!! The movies over!!)

I would soooooo love to see gambit in x3, if they are going to make one. He's one of my favorite characters. And if they do an x3, i'm gonna be soooooooooo ticked off if they don't do something with the rogue/gambit story.

Well, I'd love to see gambit, but I'd really like to see Beast. I was hoping the little flashes of him in X2 meant they planned to bring him in during X3. I'd heard that they'd originally planned to include him in the first one, but that they didn't have the budget for it, so hopefully in the next one.

A little off topic because its DC and not Marvel, but I think the Sandman comics would make fantastic movies.

Sleepy time, me boyos!
I was pretty happy with how they expanded from the first one. Adding a new one or two per movie should keep it from becoming too monstrously complex... however, if they continue to place emphasis on EVERYONE'S favorite characters, the movie will end up being 8 hours long, and won't have much coherency to its story.

On the whole, I'm a bigger fan of the Adventures of TinTin.

Superhero Project Updates: During a conference call with Marvel head Avi Arad, Newsarama found out a whole lot of information on the various comic adaptations the company currently has in production or on the drawing boards: Artisan (which is now part of Lions Gate) does not have “15 Marvel properties” (and that includes Iron Fist and Black Panther), rather the sole one at stake in currently is "The Punisher". If things go well with it next April, Marvel may expand and/or continue their relationship with the studio. 'Punisher' has a budget around $35-39 million, and a marketing budget about 2/3 of that size. "Iron Man" is targeted to be a PG-13 release and on target for a ’05 release, "Namor: The Sub-Mariner" is in active development. "Elektra", which is in current development, will be the “sequel” to Daredevil, with the character first appearing there, and then be reunited in Daredevil 2. Marvel is “feverishly” working on "Fantastic Four" with Fox, and that the studio has it on it's schedule for December 2004. "Hulk 2" is in development for an '06 release - over half the 6.5 million DVDs shipped for the first film's release sold within a week. "X-Men 3" is in development, but neither Marvel or Fox is willing to tentetively put it on the schedule yet for either an '05 or '06 release. Discussions are underway with top writers and directors for "Captain America", now that litigation surrounding the character has been resolved.

i recently saw some trailers for new The Punisher with Thomas Jane reprising the Frank Castle role and i have to tell you that it looks only slightly higher in quality than the dolph lundgren attempt. even with the big name Travolta playing the businessman Howard Saint - he just appears to reprise his role of "evil-genius-yet-demented" bad guy a la Broken Arrow and Swordfish. i don't hold out a lot of hope for this movie.

News: More Marvel Films Coming

The Punisher won't hit theaters until spring, but Lions Gate Entertainment has already struck a deal with Marvel Comics for a sequel, Punisher II, and is also developing two more Marvel films, based on the characters Iron Fist and Black Widow, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The first Punisher movie stars Thomas Jane, John Travolta and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.

Iron Fist combines superheroes with martial arts and centers on Danny Rand, who was raised by monks and taught the ancient technique of the Iron Fist, which grants its users the power to level a building with a single blow and gives them complete control over their minds, bodies and spirits, the trade paper reported.

Black Widow centers on the adventures of former KGB agent Natasha Romanov, who must find her place in the world once the Soviet Union collapses, the trade paper reported.

7Zark7!

Rockin' name! "BOTP" was the cartoon/show that sparked the "sci-fi" interest when I was younger!

Okay, is it just me, or should they finally realize that Henry Rollins is really the only guy that would fit the part of "punisher"?!
(I realize your post is months old, but the last post bumped this up! LOL!)

Anyone else hear anything about Orlando Bloom playing "Human Torch" in Fantastic Four?

To Miku

Below is the message I want to comment on:

In X Men 2 also there is a bit where the Beast is on the T.V but he has shaved all of his hair so that no one will notice he is a mutant and incase you ask he has to shave it every day as it grows so rapidly just thought you might want to know split an arrow with an axe!

Now Miku there's one thing you need to know. Yes that was Beast on the television screen but he did not shave his hair. If you have read the comic book you would know that in the original X-Men comic book Beast didn't have hair all over his body. He recieved his hair later. (that's another story.) Bryan Singer used the origianl Beast in the movie where he has no hair yet on his body. So your statement is correct that yes that is Beast but he did not shave his hair to protect himself from society. I hope you understand what I'm saying. Thanx

I'd love to see Apocalypse, maybe some Days of Future Past (for those who read the comics). Maybe some more Colossus, Shadowcat, or Mimic.

I'm still a fan of dc comics and 2000AD, perhaps we'll see some movies based on Rogue Trooper, or the Teen Titans or such like!

Four Cast Comes Together

Confirming earlier rumors, Fox has signed Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd and Chris Evans as three-fourths of the Fantastic Four, Variety reported. Chiklis (TV's The Shield) will play Ben Grimm/The Thing; Gruffudd (King Arthur) will play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, and Evans will play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, the trade paper reported.

Jessica Alba (Sin City) has emerged as most likely to play Sue Richards/the Invisible Woman, though Rachel MacAdams (Mean Girls) and Keri Russell (TV's Felicity) are also candidates, the trade paper reported.

As in the Marvel Comic series on which it is based, Fantastic Four will deal with four astronauts who develop superhuman powers after their experimental spaceship is exposed to cosmic rays. They band together to fight against the evil Doctor Doom, the trade paper reported.

The $85 million-$90 million movie is headed for an August or September start in Vancouver, B.C., with a planned release date of July 1, 2005. Tim Story (Barber Shop) will direct, from a script by Simon Kinberg.

I saw Spider-Man 2 today. It was real good. Overdone is some spots but awsome none the less.

Okay... about Chiklis, I can SO see him as Grimm... I'm not familiar with Ioan Gruffud or with Chris Evans (very familiar name, but it's a quite common one, too... As much as I like to look at JAlba, I can't really picture her as Sue. Not sure about Rachel, but I do know that unless Keri has grown some acting ability, they really shouldn't use her...
