The Cube movie was great.
Weird...but great.
Plus a ceartain DS9 actor does a great job of portraying a maths geek.
The film has a ceartain Hellraiser feel to it (the traps).
I magine being trapped in a house like that...wheeew!!!

This is a great movie - I own it on DVD & have watched it with the director's commentary on. Really gives an insight on what they were trying to project.

All of the actors did a great job - in particular Maurice Dean Wint who is criminally overlooked as an actor.

My favourite trap is at the very start of the movie - didnt see that coming!

I'd like to back up what has already been said - the movie is one of my all time favourites.
The plot is out of this world, yet very relevant to modern life. The acting is first class, and the special effects are at times exhilarating.

I have heard that they made/are making a sequel. Does anyone know about this?
Also - should a sequel be made? The film and ending deserve to stand alone for all time, and I think it is important people make their own mind up about 'what happened next'. One of the beauties about the film is that it makes you philosophise - and a sequel would detract from this aspect of the film. I'm sure most of us don't want the answers to be merely 'thrust into our lap'.
Having said that, I would look forward immensely to seeing any sequel, because if it was more of the same then it would be hard to think of it as a 'bad' thing!

YEs, that was DAX from DS9. (Not Jadzia)

(I concur, it is a grat movie. I always considered it a B movie, but after watching it a few time..it has more quality that expected. A sequel? ..... Perhaps to get inside and destry the place but getting trapped while doing it.

Anyone who found out who put them there, or did I miss it? I've only seen it once.

I saw the sequel to The Cube ... it did not live up to the first movie. The acting was weak and the storyline was especially weak compared to the original. Does anyone out there know if the first move was based on a book. If so I would like to have the author's mame.

Thx

IMDB.com doesn't show any 'literature listings' (aka, no book upon it.) However, the official website is quite creative, IMO. More movies should take paths like this: http://www.cubethemovie.com/

I thought the movie was good. Not great, not horrible, just good, or OK, or whatever. An entertaining way to pass a few hours, and probably better than anything else on cable when it was shown. However, I wasn't entirely blown away by it (like I was by the remake of The Lathe of Heaven - then again, I'm a LeGuin fan, so I'm prejudiced).
