I don't know how many RPG fans come to this site, or how many of those are specifically final fantasy fans, but if you are then you should know, if you don't already, that a Final Fantasy movie will be coming out this summer. It will be completely computer animated, and the computer animation is the most stunning, closest to real that I have ever seen in my pathetic life. if you know anything else about the movie please post a message here.

I saw the preveiw ad thingy at the thatre once. The graphics were just mindblowing. It seems to have a very interesting story line, but it's not anything like the FF games.

I would rather the FF movie be a more Medieval type movie like most of the FF games were. This one should be called Final Sci Fi. Which I have no problem with science fiction, and I'll still go see the movie. But I don't see how it has a darn thing to do with any of the FF series. I mean when I hear Final Fantasy I think of moogles, swords and majick.

Well...theres me thoughts...haha

This Wednesday!

It is odd that they made a scifi movie instead of a fantasy movie. I guess they wanted to capitalize on the games' popularity because it doesn't have anything at all to do with them.

Lets hope the story holds out and its not a piece of crap wrapped up in super animation.

Anybody else seen this yet? Here's my review:

Mindblowing visuals. Once fluids get figured out, there will be no visible difference between CG and organic actors.

Did Alec Baldwin's voice bother anybody else? Sorry. Maybe just me.

They needed to sacrifice some action scenes in order to fill in some plot holes. I think one of my favorite parts of the movie is the scene where Cid reads from his diary. It was a typical Final Fantasy plot, as opposed to the "We kicked invader butt" previews. Unfortunately, like when a book gets made into a movie, when you make a game as rich as Final Fantasy into a movie, a lot gets left out.

Not that FF games don't have plot holes. It's just that while playing, you get so immersed into the world that you don't notice them after awhile. Harder to do that with a movie, and in some respects I think it failed.

So, overall, lacking a little in plot, but otherwise a fun ride. I'd recommend seeing it once in the movie theater, but probably won't see it again.
