Some are saying that the snub of RoTK actors for awards will lead to the development of a best ensamble cast award. This is probably a good idea. Many times there are excellent group performances but no one individual stands out. I think Chicago would have won an ensamble award last year (I know, Catherine Zeta Jones won BEst Supporting Actress last year but the number of cast members that were snubbed was pretty high). This is probably the most appropriate acting award for a movie like RoTK were there are so many characters and storylines.

I did not see Mystic River. I tend not to go to movies that I think are going to be depressing. If I am going to pay to see a movie in the theatre I want to have a good time, not be depressed. I will probably rent Mystic River.

I tend to not care about an actors personal or political life. I am not going to a movie to learn about their life but to be entertained. (shrugs)

They are really funny. I am not sure if I like Orlando, but I love legolas. Actually, I love Elves. Legolas in kinda like the Boba Fett of LOTR.

Sean Astin was the best actor in Return of the King, hands down.

I personally thought that Andy Serkis was better as Gollum in The Two Towers, which is wierd considering they filmed all the movies at once.

Ian McKellen still did a good job as Gandalf, can't forget him.

I really can't say that I thought much of Orlando Bloom's performance. Trying to make an Elf-prince into a skateboarder may not have been his decision, but I still hold him semi-responsible.

Theoden, on the other hand, was AWESOME! Not quite the level of Sean Astin, but still great. He should've been nominated for best supporting actor too. Fantasy actors kind of get the short end on Academy Awards.

i love elves too
i guess sam was really good... but theoden????!!!!
hey does any1 else not like eowyn and farimier? and borimier? i cant believe sean bean is in the movie Troy comming out with orlando... you would think that those arrows were enough to kill him... silly man. :)
and orlando doesn't just skaterboard, he skateboards in style! and who else would have turned legolas into an elf like orlando did??? sean astin??? i dont think so. though that would b funny!! ;)

Did ROTK have some GREAT music or what? I loved that song when Faramir and the men of Gondor were defending the river at Osgiliath.

Well, not just ROTK, but the entire series had great music.

I just love the big orchestral songs with the singing in the backgroud.
