Posted By: Nomad Feb 12, 2002 - 08:50 am | | Madonna Sings For Bond 20 Madonna will perform a song in the upcoming 20th James Bond film, but will not act in it, her publicist told the Reuters news service. The British media had earlier reported that the pop superstar would make a cameo appearance in the as-yet-unnamed filmed, which is currently in production. "She is doing a song for the film, but she won't be acting," Madonna's spokeswoman in London said. "We don't know if it will be the title song yet." New Zealand-born Lee Tamahori is directing the latest Bond epic, which will star Pierce Brosnan and will open with a dramatic hovercraft chase in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea, Reuters reported.
Posted By: Baze Mar 31, 2002 - 02:43 am | | So it's called "Die Another Day". Frankly, they could have done better, couldn't they? I liked the original "Beneath the Ice", but there you are. I wonder if they'll have to shoe-horn the phrase into the script, for example the end couple of lines being: Bond girl: James! I thought you were dead! James: No my dear, I decided to die *another* day. Or something. I also heard they're currently doing some filming in Cornwall- at the Eden Project, which is pretty exciting, and probably cheaper than going to a real jungle. Any news on whether the Madonna track is going to be the title song or not? Fingers crossed that it is...
