The Book of Words series was really good (excepting maybe the title, a little redundant doncha think) but I couldn't get into Cavern of Black Ice. It was just to cold (no pun intended) too much ice and snow and frostbite, it got a little tired. However, for the most part, I think she's an interesting writer and will definitely try again with her next book.

I very much enjoyed the Barbed Coil, the only one of her books that I've read so far. It was nice to see a fantasy world that was so, well, *gritty*. Not pretty, not nice, but just real. I also adored the new concept of magic- lovely spin on a trad formula. I reckon I'll try the Book of Words series next.

I've made several attempts at her books, but I just can't get into them. They're well written and the story is good, but there's just not enough...I don't know...emotion? fire?

I've read her first series, but I haven't yet read her later books. I will have to read them.

I am such a sucker for well written SciFi Fantasy books.
