Has anyone read the Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton?
Anita Blake dwells in a alternate America where creatures of legend:vampires, werewolves, elves, and others live side by side with humans and have civil rights!Anita
is a executioner, a person who kills rogue vampires and she also raises the dead for a living(no pun). She helps the police solve
crimes where the supernatural is involve and she is in a lover triangle with a Master Vampire and Werewolf. The series combines:
witty dialogue, sensuality, and plenty of bloody action.
The series so far:
Guilty Pleasures
Laughing Corpse
Circus of the Damned
Lunatic Cafe
Bloody Bones
Killing Dance
Burnt Offerings
Blue Moon

I got Guilty Pleasures for my birthday last year. I read it and liked it [though the title and cover *sigh* got me quite a bit of razzing from folks thinking it was something porn-related--how come so many fantasy and sci fi books do that? i know half-naked females probably do sell...but being a female and walking around with one gets you into some trouble at times...[BTW:that was a seperate rant, there's no nudity in the cover of Guilty Pleasures]]. However, after passing the book onto a friend, I decided not to bother reading the rest of the series. I don't know...it just didn't grab me enough, I guess...I rarely read urban fantasy, actually the only ones I do read is the SERRAted Edge series by Mercedes Lackey...

I've read up to The Killing Dance, which I didn't like very much, so I haven't read any of the subsequent books yet because I've heard they are more like TKD than they are like the earlier books.
