I picked up The Lord of the Isles series because I was summoned to it, so to speak. Well, I haven't read it yet, right now I'm reading The Death Gate Cycle series. I was wondering what people thought of that series. Thanks. (P.S. If a response to someone is under the name "OdiGarf", then know that that's me also.)

I hope I understood you correctly when you wanted some feedback on THE LORD OF THE ISLES series, 'cause if you wanted DEATH GATE...sorry, don't know that one :-)))
I've read the first two books of the series (I don't know if there's more by now), and I'll have to say it grows on you. Originally I didn't much care for the story and only bought the second book because I'd read the first...obviously not the best reason in the wold, as you can see.
By now I think both books are great reading.
Drake trots out the...voces mysticae...I think they were called a bit too often, but once you get used to ignoring that everything's allright.
I think moat of his characters are very appealing. My favorites are Nonnus and Ilna os-Kenset.

Holy Horse Gernades!...The Death Gate Cycle...No words describe...It is by far my Most favorite and beloved series of books...I am so happy that you get to experiance the power...You will love them.

THE LORD OF THE ISLES series is very good, no argument there.
The Death Gate Cycle is worth a reading, but it's not quite as good as say The Lord Of The Isles. Nonetheless good is good :-)
