I've also read "Stonehenge." In fact, I think it was the only book of Cornwell's that I've read, though I've heard very good things about all of his books. What I like best of all is that he stays true to archeological findings about Stonehenge while keeping the story interesting.

Aye, Cornwell is a very good author- the "Sharpe" series (about a base-born British soldier who rises through the ranks during the Indian, Peninsular and Napoleonic Wars, 1790-1815) just about falls into the "historical fantasy" category, as though the books are very well researched and all battles and major events are accurately described as they happened, the principal characters are ficticious.
I've read quite a lot of Bernard Cornwell, and would recommend his Arthurian series (the title of the trilogy escapes me), the "Sharpe" books and his ongoing series about an archer during the "100 years war" ("Harlequin"?). His sea- based stories, which were mainly written before Sharpe I found uninspiring, and I have to say though he wrote the book "Stonehenge" with his usual attention to detail, I thought that he didn't go anywhere with it and that the characters were poor...

Yeah i've read the one about the 100 years war. The books are "The Archer's Tale" and "Vagabond." I'm in Vagabond right now. It's pretty good.
