A wonderful, well-written novel written by Philip J. Carraher. Available at 1stbooks.com.

Jack Cassidy (Saint Jack)is a firefighter who suffers the tragic loss of his own wife and daughter and who, filled with sorrow, wants to kill himself. He's kept from doing so by the appearance of a vision that tells him he must live in order to save the world from a growing evil. This he agrees to do and so his advantures begin. And what adventures! He's visited and befriended by angels who appear to him in the form of rats in his basement. He takes a trip to Hell and back, is granted great powers through a talisman (powers that include invisibility, control of the elements and more) all to help him find and conquer the hidden evil that threatens the world.

I'm not giving away too much to say that the "Third Angel" in the title refers to the angel in the bible who talks of the pollution of the waters of life. It's the author's viewpoint that DNA can be thought of as the true waters of life and that the current genetic science taking place might very well be the pollution the bible talks about.

"Saint Jack" is an instant fantasy classic! It should be read by all lovers of good books and fine writing. Great book!
