Ugh, well, the above is a bad pun in reference to Mr. Asprin's 'Myth' series, of which all the titles are done in similar styling. However, don't judge a book by... ah, you know the rest..... The first one, 'Another Fine Myth', gives you the usual clueless apprentice with priorities greatly differing from what his master would have... but from there on, Asprin takes the standard fantasy fare and adds a heaping helping of sci-fi and contemporary material, thus creating what can only be called myth-tery stew^^(delicious aaaand nutritious!). Admittedly, I have an inclination toward comedic fantasy, but considering all the drama out there already, who can blame me? Here's a listing of this series for those who might desire a sample: Another Fine Myth Myth Conceptions Hit or Myth Myth-ing Persons Little Myth Marker M.Y.T.H. Inc. Link Myth-nomers and Im-Pervections(--no, this isn't a misspelling; just read it, already!--) Myth Directions M.Y.T.H. Inc. in Action Sweet Myth-tery of Life --He also had a hand in editing the 'Thieves World' series, a rather interesting mesh of varying contributing authors working with definite characters in a set environment. Now THIS title, my friends, is dramatic!

Posted By: takezo Oct 25, 2001 - 04:19 am | | No probs, Bmat! I'm planning on adding a few other authors on here, once I can give them a decent(er) bio and series breakdown. Just offhand, however, I can mention authors of similar fantasy joyrides, just fyi: Simon Hawke, Spider Robinson(more a sci-fi sort, but still cool), and Piers Anthony, whom you likely have already have heard of, plus he's mentioned on the list as well...

Not as all out silly as the M.Y.T.H. books, but kinda quirky and fun. It is about corporations that resort to hiring mercenary armies to negotiate and hold assets. It takes the meaning of hostile takeover to the extreme.
