Are there any other books about assassins and thiefs besides the Night Runners series or the Farseers seriers?

I love those kinds of books :)

Thanks

I don't remember what it's called (might even be Night Runners or Farseers for all I know), but there's a great, fun series by Stephen Brust. It's a good time and highly recommended. Fun action centered around an assassin who has a funny sidekick.

I am looking for the exact same thing. I just got finished with the Farseer Trilogy. I found this site while I was looking for other fantasy books with assassins. If you find anything, can you e-mail me. kamdi_smack@hotmail.com. I'll be looking some more, and if I find anything I'll post it here. Thanks.

The stephen brust series you're thinking of is called the "Taltos Chronicles," and it is all about thieving and assasin-ing, though it does have a decent amount of humor and swordplay -- more swordplay than humor recently. It's an all around great series to read. But it isn't as good (in my opinion) as Farseer. There are a series of books out called Thieves World, but I think it's by a variety of authors. And I haven't read them. Hope that helps some!

I liked the Thieves World series. it has been out a while (i read it in high school) it was a bit uneven because of the different writers but the character development worked over the various books. I would recommend it. Each book contains short stories and keeps your attention thru out the series.

WOW, 7zark7, Thieves World? Boy, that takes me back...
about 15 years.
The one good thing about that series is that it has finished, though they recently came out with a new book in that universe. The reason it's good that it has finished, is that you can start reading it and follow the storylines all the way through the series. That makes it nice to a writer because then you can see, as a writer, the way that the authors handled things in going from story to story and bridging the gaps in the books to make it a true series. That sort of stuff can be useful to any writer, but especially to one who plans a series of books.

Hi, the Symphony of the Ages books by Elizabeth Haydon has a main character who is, you guessed it, an assassin. A pretty good one too, he can track people by the vibration of their heartbeats on his unusual skin. Might fit the bill, I don't know. The first book is Rhapsody.
m.e.t.
