A group of atypical Vulcans visiting Enterprise subject T'Pol to uncomfortable new ideas.

Captain Archer agrees to assist a civilian Vulcan ship with repairs, and learns this group of Vulcans left their homeworld years ago to explore ways to reintegrate emotions into their lives. As the two crews work together and become fast friends, one of the visitors named Tolaris reaches out to T'Pol and urges her to experiment with releasing her own "primal nature."

Did anyone watch this "NEW" episode that they snuck in the middle of repeats? I thought for sure I would have read a lot of clammer regarding Vulcans who have decided to break from tradition and embrace their emotions along with Logic. Unlike their Romulan counterparts (which they really know nothing about at this point in ST time other than a war without faces that the Federation/Earth fought some years back).

Anyway, it appears that the disconnected Vulcans (or atleast one of them), Tolaris, has a temper that he obviously showed. Gives you insight into Romulans. My only thought there is that the Romulans do not really follow logic...they simply embraced their emotions and thus created a war like race.

I wonder what affect T'Pols run in with them has created. Will she be more apt not to embrace more "human" situations/emotions? Will she hide back into a more secure Vulcan posture?
Of course, the visit wit these more layed back Vulcans wasn't all bad. Trip made a friend in the Vulcan Engineer , Tov, and some of the other Vulcans were amiable. It was simply I expect there should be many questions and a lot of discussion on this event.

Oh yeah, one other thing, didn't we see a mind meld perfomed before when T'Pol was ill? This ep is supposedly the first time it was brought up. Hmmm I guess I could have more to say later.

This was my kind of episode, nothing elaborate but good on character development, with some hints on the background to Vulcan culture and its dissidents. Hope these Vulcans will turn out to be recurring characters. iz

Well it's back on in New Zealand, same day, but they have put it on two hours later....

The network had said early that they were going to have two shows that "we hope will be better partners for Enterprise and once these are available we will be better placed
to evaluate how to associate them with Enterprise",

Well there are two new shows, but they have not put them with Enterprise, they are on another night. I would asssume the two shows that are come on the same week enterprise is back are the ones they where talking about. I would say where Enterprise is now would disadvantaging Enterprise more than before....

Oh well at least it is back on...

So what did I think of this episode, well I like the mind meld, part of the episode. I like the Vulcan Engineer.....
