Posted By: Kismet Jan 14, 2001 - 02:51 am | | Hi all - we are still on series 1 (I think) over her in au (despite the fact it is made here) - and the channel that screens it puts it on, takes it off, puts it on again (but at a different time) and then takes it off... I tell you, it is driving us fans crazy. At the moment it is off again because the cricket is on... (sigh). It is really hard to piece together basic background info. So a serious query - Moya has just given birth. As I have probably missed a few eps I must admit I do wonder how she got pregnant. Was another leviathon involved? Could it be pathonogenisis - but if so how come the baby is male? Also, how come he's got guns and stuff. I would really appreciate any background help people can give me.
Sounds like you're at the beginning of Season 2. Odd that you are behind and the UK is ahead. Sci-Fi Channel sure has some weird scheduling! Since you are behind, try to avoid the ep specific topics until they air locally--they will contain a lot of spoilers! Anyway, Tayln was a Peacekeeper experiment. They used a biomechanical catalyst to make Moya pregnant with a gunship. Mid season 1, D'Argo broke a shield that had been keeping the catalyst from taking effect (the one where D'Argo thought everyone was his relatives and Aeryn had to take over for Pilot when Moya's systems began to fail--sorry, I can't remember the ep name!).
Posted By: Kismet Jan 16, 2001 - 02:09 am | | Thanks for replying - yes we are WAY behind in the eps down here. Channel nine (which is a co-producer) only started the series this year - and after only 4 (or 5) eps took it off as it "wasn't rating". Gee, shows like this are notoriously slow to start off, but this particular TV station is notorius for not giving new shows enough time to "rate". Needless to say Farscape does have a following, but keeping track of when its on is a full-time occupation - so many of us fans have missed a fair number of the eps they have actually shown because they stop/start showing it, and to boot change time slots at the drop of a hat. We had a bit of a Farscape fest when the Olympics were on - then they took it off again. Then it started again on Saturday nights - but everytime something sporty happens - cricket/tennis etc. - they take it off again. I will take your advice about ep specific topics - I'm not one for spoilers thanks again K

Imogen Annesley played the part but my web surfing has failed to find her web-site, if in fact she has one? Bogus. ZimNova
Posted By: Gemini Apr 15, 2001 - 07:22 am | | What's going on with everyone dying. I love farscape but the "dallas..dream element" can only be pushed so far. Why did Zahn have to die and does anyone know if she's to come back? I loved her character and find others I'd rather see disappear. The stories are getting better but cut out the dying main character element.
Yeah...a lot of us agree about the death of the week syndrome. Don't know if Zhaan will be back or not at this point. Virginia Hey posted this message on her official website some time ago(emphasis added):
Quote:There's been rumours flying around about me leaving! It was a little too vigilant of some of my friends I feel, they heard Susan Sarandon say, "So, I believe you can't tell us about your final 4 eps of the series?"...Well, everyone flew into a panic. What she meant was "So, I believe you can't tell us about the 4 last eps of the season?" Ha Ha...Funny how rumours run wild! I guess with my site down for so long it added fuel! Well I'm here and am not going anywhere... OK? Just surrender to the story lines and let them entertain you, don't read too much into anything, just absorb the ride!! Hee Hee!
There haven't been any official response since Zhaan's actual death, but I would say that sure makes it sound like its all part of the story arc and Zhaan will return at some point. I know that she is making a number of FS related appearances (info also on her site), so maybe she will give some hints at one of those. Then again...Virginia was NOT in the credits for this week's ep, and her picture has been removed from the main FS montage at Scifi.com. They didn't do that with Aeryn (granted...Aeryn never really missed an ep), so it may be more permanent than we would like. I guess we all just have to hope for the best and "wait for the wheel".
Posted By: Azziz Jun 25, 2001 - 06:41 pm | | According to the new Farscape Magazine, she asked to leave the series. So I think she is pretty much gone, but might do some guest spots possibly. What is the url for her site, I'd like to check it out?
Click the official site link in my post right above your's It's still very Zhaan heavy, but I haven't checked it for formal comments lately.
Posted By: Bmat Jun 26, 2001 - 04:53 am | | I took a look at the site, and the last newsletter is April, 2001, with no mention of intentions with respect to Farscape. Hey mentions her parapsychology studies and indicates that she'd like to do some presentations on the subject.
Posted By: Nomad Apr 05, 2002 - 05:55 am | | Farscape (9 pm/ET, SCI-FI) UNIVERSAL APPEAL The last time the Sci Fi Channel unveiled a new Farscape episode was August 24, 2001. Since then, devotees like me have been waiting very patiently for the final four episodes of season three to air. Has it been worth the wait? Of course. If you're among the uninitiated, Farscape chronicles the adventures of John Crichton (Ben Browder), a NASA astronaut who is sucked into a wormhole during his maiden voyage in an experimental spaceship. Thrust into a distant galaxy controlled by a fascist military collective (the ironically named "Peacekeepers" , Crichton hooks up with a motley group of alien fugitives to stay alive. Browder's swashbuckling Crichton soon proves to be the Peacekeepers' most resourceful opponent. Crichton's chief nemesis is the cadaverous Scorpius (Wayne Pygram), a sadistic alien who makes Darth Vader look like an Ewok. Scorpius is frequently the object of Crichton's sarcastic asides, which are peppered with (Earth-based) pop culture references. For example, he calls Scorpius "grasshopper" — an homage to David Carradine's character on Kung Fu. Although this Earthling thinks Crichton is a riot, it's important to note that his quips also bemuse alien friends and enemies alike. When we last checked in, the Crichton-Scorpius tussle for control of the wormholes (black holes that serve as shortcuts around the universe) was intensifying. In the August cliffhanger, Crichton decided to sabotage Scorpius's wormhole research by destroying his foe's command post, a huge spaceship. Tonight, the interspecies shenanigans begin when the whiny Jool (Tammy MacIntosh) tries to abandon Moya, a living spaceship or "leviathan." Chiana (Gigi Edgley) prevents the shrewish alien from boarding a nearby medical ship by leveling Jool with a sucker punch. It proves to be a fortuitous move, because the unarmed medical vessel is unexpectedly obliterated by Moya's offspring — the leviathan Talyn. Talyn is suffering from psychosis, and it falls to Aeryn (Claudia Black) to persuade the errant leviathan to shut down. Elsewhere, the toad-like Rygel (voiced by Jonathan Hardy) and the leonine Luxon D'Argo (Anthony Simcoe) meet with Scorpius at a diner to negotiate Crichton's release into Peacekeeper hands. Haggling like a pair of Law & Order attorneys, Rygel and Scorpius work to hammer out a deal. But their summit ends abruptly with the arrival of two blue, hyena-like aliens wielding laser guns. These creatures are proof that unintelligent life exists in outer space. Rygel quickly realizes that the dim bandits are working with the cook and are burning down the joint for the insurance money. Unfortunately, the bandits plan to burn their prisoners as well as the diner, forcing Rygel and D'Argo to unite with Scorpius against the common threat. But that doesn't mean the two sides won't double-cross each other if the opportunity presents itself. Such intrigue is typical of Farscape, which gleefully exploits the fractious relationships of allies and enemies alike in consistently imaginative and engrossing ways. A product of The Jim Henson Company, Farscape boasts astounding special effects, especially the animatronics that make Rygel and Moya's Pilot possible. Still, the series's true greatness lies in the scripts. Under the watchful eye of series creator Rockne S. O'Bannon, the scribes reel off one riveting plot twist after another, and like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Farscape deftly fuses wit and breathtaking action with startling emotional depth. Crichton's tortured affair with Aeryn, for example, is an ongoing tragedy of Shakespearean proportions. At first, Farscape can be a bit difficult to follow because of its large cast of characters and tangled web of storylines. (Farscape Undressed at 8 pm/ET offers a primer for both.) But this excellent series is certainly worth the effort, and like a gourmet meal, Farscape offers tasty surprises with each successive course. Sci-fi fans and couch potatoes alike could not ask for a more rewarding repast. — G.J. Donnelly
Posted By: ZimNova Jun 01, 2002 - 08:09 pm | | Well I have to say this again. After watching 10 or 12 hours of the SFC Farscape *Chain Reaction* of re-runs on Friday...NOBODY is doing anything close to the quality of this show. Not Enterprise, Not Andromeda, Nobody. This is without doubt the BEST sci-fi series being produced today. Just see *TWWW* (Aeryn, Pilot, conflict) as an example. Or, *Green Eyed Monster*, or *Look at the Princess* Pt.'s 1,2,3. Frelling rippin' episodes. All the other shows play third fiddle at best. ZimNova
Posted By: Magus Oct 22, 2004 - 06:48 pm | | I remember this show. I enjoyed it a lot, but haven't watched in a while. It was an awsome show and I have some very fond memories of it. I wish I could go back to the beginning and watch it all the way it was meant to be. Oh, well. Maybe I can catch it on DVD.
