Just so you know--all four of the final epsiodes have already aired in England and therefore are fully described on the British web page for Farscape--the new spoiler page for us Yanks, I guess.

I haven't got the URL handy (and I don't read spoilers anyway) but if you can't resist, it's easy to find in a web search. And it is also posted under the Farscape topic at Hostboard.

ACK! Don't spoil them...this is one of the few shows I have to look forward to anymore!

Jules Verne premieres tonight too...hope it turns out to be a good show so Fridays remain a whole evening (I already plan on skipping Black Scorpion--the movie was sooooo cheesy).

And don't forget...there's a 4 ep FS chain reaction on Sunday at 7pm!

A rippin' episode.
The first good laugh is Zhann to Chiana, "I hardly need a lesson from you child!" (remember Zhann is only a 'middle aged' Delvian P'au at 813 of years)

Stark!!!
Well then he was correct about being the one to be dispersed in *The Ugly Truth* to save the rest of the crew knowing his 'physical body' is but a vessel for his true incorporeal self.
Whoa...and he has a simple plan to save Ka D'argo's son Jothee to boot.
Knock over a *shadow depository* more heavily guarded than a PK Gamak base!
Rygel and Chiana love the sound of all that currency but once Aeryn starts to ask Stark the hard questions about his knowledge of the armaments they may encounter she's met with, "well, not precisely".

Next laugh, *KFC* along with all 11 secret ingredients.
Another sexy alien...Natira, that'll work.
It appears that PK personnel move freely on the depository in this section of the UT's. This suggests that the PK do regular shadow business here. (was that Lt. Teeg???)
The plan, the plan...this reminds me of a Coen bros. film...stick to the plan which of course will not hold up once the dren hits the fan :-)
Does Chi have a way to get through to Rygel every time he starts to act up or what?

Zhann and Chiana make a grand entrance with the *trojan* Rygel which at this point everything is going according to 'the plan' including the part Ka D'argo was willing to play to help save his son.
Natira gets back at Zhann'a arrogance with that vault in the face trick, again funny.

Scorpius!...this is bad.
You gotta give old Scorpy a thumbs up for his choice of assistants. First Niem (*Nerve* & *The Hidden Memory*) and now the *PK nurse*. Meow.
The use of the monitors tracking the various players was a well done bit of direction as they move o so close in passing each other. Good tension during those scenes.

As 'the plan' comes apart (frell) we get a whole bunch of action making this ep. one of the better ones done so far during S-2 and only the first of a 3 parter, woo hoo.
Little ole sparky comes through as planned, gotta give the *slug* credit for not chocking this time.
Just how he did it though still remains a mystery to me.
That damn *Scorpy chip* is still playing havoc with poor Chichton and just what was he about to say to Aeryn that was so important?
Shippers everywhere rejoice.
John's will overcomes the chip but is Scorpius really dead? Not if the next episodes preview is to be believed. Dren, spoiled by the preview.
What the Frell!!! What was up with that bug thing at the end? Stay tuned.

Everything about LG&M pt.1 was first rate, IMHO.
The story, sets, costumes (especially Zhann's while on the depository), soundtrack, the SFX & CGI (best CGI shot was that one passing over the roof of the depository in the rain I thought), the direction and all the great work by the writers, cast and crew again prove why FarScape is the best Sci-Fi series on TV right now which has no equal. (sorry Andromeda but your going to have to do far better to try to catch up to FS)

I agree that it was mostly great...and that's a fine summary of the best bits Zim. I didn't get the KFC bit at first, then when John mentions the secret ingredients it dawned on me and I was just rolling. I love they way FS throughs that stuff in and all the aliens just look at him like he's babbling!

Zhaan looked totally wicked in that eyepatch get up, and I loved the way Chiana played the part of her lacky.

Natira was a top notch new alien, but I'm sort of wondering--was she naked, or was part of that supposed to be an outfit? Sometimes its hard to tell. They could have done a little better with the eye makeup on the closeups though (too much regular skin color visible).

The effects certainly did not disappoint, and were a little grander than we often get (the budget savings of shooting in one ship most of the time must be a blessing). The flight to the depository was quite impressive as were all of the exteriors. The storage unit area, including the surprise zip of Zhaan's unit flying at ya', looked fabulous too.

I'm not too surprised Scorpy shows up in the previews. His "death" scene was a fairly classic tease. The fight with John was good. Browder really does a great job with the "there's an evil microchip in my head" stuff, and it truly blossoms when Scorpius is around to aggravate him. I think we're owed a major this-is-the-only-plot-point-blowout ep. when those two finally resolve things once and for all! I want a death match!!!!

Even though I loved it, I have a couple of nits...

Security at this depository was not portrayed convincingly. Oh look, some people we've never seen before want to deposit something. Gee, lets put the bodyguards in our command center unattended where they can have free access to all of our surveilence equipment. Come on...would you do that? Didn't think so! And where the heck were all the guards? Zhaan and company were able to run through hall after hall--and open door after open door--with their loot, and only met a small force just before the last hatch. I'm not sure what Rigel did to pull off the switch either Zim (they could have shown a little more of that so it was clear), but why would these storage units have trap doors on top of them at all? I really thought they got away WAY too easy, and should have been hit with more opposition along the way.

Zhaan was a bit too schizo in this ep. Her desparate fawning about Stark was kind of annoying and not very "Zhaan like". I dig Zhaan, and I'm not sure what the heck they are trying to do with her character anymore.

My last nit is WHEN IS AERYN GOING TO ADMIT SHE LOVES JOHN TOO!? These two need to get it on already!

Hey Zim and Master: well, I'm glad to see Scape back on, but I think maybe there is too much action these days and not enough reflection. I saw some of the Chain Reaction and throught, "Oh yeah, there was once a time when the characters had these kind of quiet bonding moments that were a nice counterpoint to all the frenzy." That seems to have been bleed out of the script over time.

Zim--At least Crichton can now consciously inform someone that Scorpius hard-wired his head. I hope they follow that up with a storyline about trying to remove the chip.

Master--I also thought the security at the bank was pretty weak. I mean, wouldn't they expect payment in advance before accepting a deposit? And certainly you couldn't walk out with your valuables until settling the bill. But Zhaan and Chiana didn't have any currency.

As for the insects that appear in the cargo after it is aboard Moya--I wonder if maybe that isn't the banks "secret" defense mechanism. Stick some of the mimick bugs, or whatever they are, in every deposit, so that if it is stolen, the thieves get a whole lot of trouble along with the goods.

Of course, it's also possible that ALL the ingots in the cargo are bugs in disguise. If Natira was trying to cheat Scorpius, she might have given him something that looked, temporarily, like ingots and then just turned into insects. Of course, I wouldn't want to be around if he came back to complain.

P.S.

Well, Hostboard is DOWN again, so hopefully we will see more of the group over here. I warned them to bookmark this URL!

By the way, I also got the one set of Farscape Action figures (the four figure set) and I have to admit it is the nicest thing I have in my action figure collection. I don't buy many these days, having no place to display them, but I keep this box out on the book shelf. Now if I can just get it autographed . . .

POSTED BY NOMAD (from TSFV- ack!)
Hi IZ, Zim and Master!
Thanks for all the replays. Just a few things to add.
I originally thought that the box with the bug in it was was originally Scorpis. Did scorpius put the bug in it before he tried to retrieve his stash (3 times the value ..LOL)and found that it was swithed? But, maybe it was a bank spy bug...we'll see on Friday. So...scopy has a ...er.."thing" with the bank manager...LOL. He really is a sly one. I was just thinking...Ill bet that bug was put their by her to somehow screw up Scorpi or Kill him so she could get the loot back anyway. Hmmmmmmm As for what Chrighton tried to say;...duh...I LUV U...same as Aeryns reply...they just are playing with us....LOL

nommy--i'm betting that Natira sabotaged the loot because she thought it was going to Scorpy. by the way, haven't we done the "invasion of the bugs" plot once already in this show? the Aussie writers seem awfully obsessed with bugs.

i saw the first episode of the secret adventures of jules verne. know what? these adventures should have remained secret. i could barely stand tracy scoggins as captain cupcake on B5. she didn't come off much better as the french pastry in this show. although the icing looked very nice. if i were directly her, i think i'd give her fewer lines and a lot fewer garments. (you should always go with an actor's strengths).

Oh yeah...the bug. I assumed it was a plant by Natira to cheat Scopius. It wasn't clear if there was only one or more in the bin that just hadn't popped out yet. Have to wait and see I guess!

You're right Iz...there is a certain "frenzy" and less "quiet time", but perhaps its just a reflection of this particular arc and episode. The three ep. "Look at the Princess" arc had lots of action, but worked in more reflective moments as it progressed. Perhaps we just need to be a little patient. Still, I must admit that the replay of "Throne for a Loss" (the first part of the chain reaction) showed exactly the kind of Zhaan I love--spiritual and clever, but with an unexpected strength and toughness. They need to be sure we don't lose that Zhaan as time goes on!

Hi,

Iz, Zim, Azziz, Nomad, Zim. Cool to see you all at the site that Iznardy shined the light on for us.

Master,

Is that a Dr. Who reference or simply confidence? Anyway cool site you got here. What do you think of a welcome/Introduction thread? I didn't know where else to post my arrival and hadn't had the opportunity to catch much of the episode so I didn't have anything constuctive to contribute. Also. in case the other site actually sinks into the swamp, how do you feel about Social threads?

Zim, thanks for the link to the Ambassador Delenn doll, she's awesome.

Thanks, Sindatur and everyone.
Yes, Juperee did a fine job in creating her very special one of a kind *Delenn*.

One thing is still unclear, re: the *bug(s)*
It may be:
1) A security device included in every deposit vault.
2) A *gift* for Scorpius from Natira.
3) A *new* lifeform we have no knowledge of, or
4) Some frelling twist in the story that we have failed to anticipate on any level, leading to much entertainment!
Votes for 4 ?

Zim--since the promo for next week's episode mentioned everything EXCEPT the bugs, i think we can assume they will be "some frelling twist." I still think they are either a standard security device or a bit of sabotage by Natira, angry that she had to pay out so much loot to Scorpius. But with this show, who knows. They could be the Rockettes in disguise.

Asis and Sindatur--I'll look for you in this and other topics. There are headings for things like "off-topic" and "general scifi discussion." I'm not sure if there is an introduction thread. I may try posting to some of the writing/fiction boards, but I'm short on time for that kind of thing these days, having to research and write a book in that other world called the "real" world. When I first visited this site I found some links to the Lord of the Rings pages and to the chat rooms. I have since forgotten where they are, but I'm sure I will eventually find them again.

Glad to see ya'll here--

Thank you Sindatur! Glad you like it. It's just a coincidence. I actually was inspired by Igor's relationship with Dr. Frankenstein, and thought it sounded cooler than "webmaster". You're not the first person to ask, so maybe I should start saying that's where it came from! ;)

There's a couple of "say hi" type threads:
one called role call that someone started in the general sci-fi forum, and one called anyone from the vines someone started in the off topic forum. You can use one of those, or start one in this forum if you want one just for FS fans by using the "create new topic" button on the main Farscape topic page. All I really ask is that you try to keep conversations related to the topics they are under so there is some kind of organization to the whole thing. Other than that, whatever works for you folks is fine with me.

Social threads are fine too. The off topic forum area was created so you can talk about anything you want (keep it clean!), and is the best place for general chit chat, recycling efforts, what you had for dinner, comments about the stupidity of politicians (you get the idea). Just click the "create new topic" button and start a new discussion of your choice.

I also have a special forum called on the web that is set aside for talking about or recommending other sci-fi and fantasy related websites. That's pretty much the only forum that I won't delete "drive by links" as spam...as long as they are related to sci-fi of course! As Iz points out, there is a general sci-fi discussion forum. That's basically the catch all so you always have somewhere to post even if you don't think it quite fits in anywhere else.

Note that you can create new topics anywhere there is a button that says you can. Main (front page of the forum) topics can only be created by me, but I'm happy to add new ones if someone has a fantastic idea for a new main forum that isn't already covered. Explore around some and you may find other existing threads that are of interest to you.

Iz--SV doesn't have chat rooms, and I don't plan on adding them. You may have followed a link from a news post or something. Lord of the Rings news can be found under the Newswire site nav menu item (look in the right hand margin for LOTR headlines--the regular headlines are in the margin on the LOTR news pages so you can easily go back and forth between the two).

Ok...I think that should cover "orientation". This software may be a little different than what you've been used to, but I think it will grow on you when you get accustomed to it.

The Master: Thank you for the orientation! I really like being able to see what I am responding to on the same page while I am typing- very good design! And spellcheck too!!! Very nice!! :)

I was disappointed in the first episode, and I hope the others pick up. The weakness of the premise that the bank would allow people to wander around, and the over-reacting were two criticisms.

The bug thing was an intriguing event.
