While I'm bored, might as well get this topic going for later tonight. Wonder how many of our predictions will come true? :)

Predictions,

Well, I was gonna go with Bmat that the worm was a guardian of sorts, guess we were wrong there.

NeeYala's people, now enemies?

Jewel, thought she'd work out, given time.

We went through week after week of "Death of the week" where everyone else recovered with a miracle (Actually, almost the whole season was miraculous re-incarnation for someone) and then, when it's such a simple plot point to find a planet Zhaan can root herself in, Real life comes in and frells it up. Zhaan is my favorite character, and she's gone just like that. And I was rootin' for Starke to find a way through that door so he could disperse himself someplace else and save Zhaan.

More when I can compose myself, {Whimper, whimper, Ian consider yourself lucky you didn't have to witness tonight's episode}

Poor Sindatur!!!! After, as you said, so many times other characters were brought back, it's not impossible that Zhaan will too. Perhaps she will re-grow somehow as some plants do.

The episode event that makes me think that won't happen, though, is the long farewell monologue by Zhaan. It did sound final.

I like Jool. Her character will add some spice to the relatively comfortable family-feeling of the crew members we have been observing. Even the tension between Chiana and D'argo is a bit bland.

I wonder, though, Jool is a bit like Chiana- or as Chiana used to be- self-centered and selfish. Chiana's character may have grown as a result of her betrayal of D'argo, she seems a bit more sober. However Chiana could revert back to her former carefree ways. Except that now Jool can be the carefree character. So where does that leave Chiana?

Who will provide the calmness, and the medical care, that Zhaan used to do? Moya doesn't even have a holo-doctor, or a purple alien...

Well, I noticed a often used plot device that would open the door to bringing Zhann back in the previews for next week. *altenated sad than happy*

Zhann is one of my favorite characters, I do hope they bring her back, but hope they find a imaginative way instead of tired old plot devices.

Hi, Azziz!

Yes same here. I'd like to see her come back, but not in a trite way. That's why I keep thinking something in which her unique position of being a plant might be fun.

Here is a quote from Virginia Hey's newsletter of Jan. 2001:

"Rumors; There's been rumours flying around about me leaving! It was a little too vigilant of some of my friends I feel, they heard Susan Sarandon say, "So, I believe you can't tell us about your final 4 eps of the series?" ...Well, everyone flew into a panic. What she meant was "So, I believe you can't tell us about the 4 last eps of the season?" Ha Ha... Funny how rumours run wild! I guess with my site down for so long it added fuel! Well I'm here and am not going anywhere... OK? Just surrender to the
story lines and let them entertain you, don't read too much into anything, just absorb the ride!! Hee Hee! "

http://www.virginia-hey.com/htdocs/newsletter/index.html

So, for what it is worth...it does not say she is leaving.

Let me be prophetic once again (lol):

Zhan survived the tumble into the Wormhole. They said time and time again that the Pathfinders ship stood a better chance because of its construction. My bet is that she survived, flew the ship to the planet and planted her "big beautifull blue ass" in the dirt ;)

I think she'll be back aboard the "federation ship SS Crack of my Ass" in no time flat. Zhaan is a GREAT character. I know the death thread is becoming trite. But this paticular universe is one beyond what we consider normal, and certianly mortality means something else here. Most of these creatures believe in some higher being. We've seen the Leviathan's God, who's to say They won't be moved by Zhaan's love for the "beast of burden" and bring her back to continue to serve as Moya's guardian. She was judged worthy.

Chriton is obvsiouly gone through HELL. He's a very changed person, IMHO. I think he's Journy is far from over, and I see us growing to dislike him a bit this season through the eyes of the rest of the crew. Though it may not be his fault at all. ( And likely, Stark's fault ).

And to segway to Stark, I still sense evil here. Though I don't know if he's evil, or just capable of evil remains to be seen. I have to admin I love how he's grown protective of Moya and her crew even. And the way he handles it is always a blast. Am I turning around on this chracter? Could be. I remember reading he was supposed to be in the final 4 ep's or so of S1 and that was it, but he's obviously around for the haul. He does add some dimension to the crew.

And Jool, I think will be a pretty good addon to the crew. Though I don't care much for her yet, I do see potential. When she can be calm, she seems quite smart. And another chic to compete with Ayrn will certainly help create tension.

Chianna has grown leaps and bounds and I think she's found a place to call home, and will defend it to her own death. HOWEVER, every child gets pissy with their parents, whe will rebel from time to time. That's pip.

The show is getting back to the point where it bagan. People not trusting each other. Uneasy alliances with each other. A dynamic that made S1 work so well. With the new additions, new lines will be drawn and crossed. Rigel and Aryn are really blooming this season, as are D'Argo and Chi. I know those two will work it out.

One thing I'm still upset about is everyone being down on the Human :) .. John has always stuck his neck out there. Sure he's gotten them into trouble more than once. But he's always stepped up to pay the price. ALWAYS. They all really do stand up when it's time. I want D'Argo to admit he trust John. I can wait for John and Ayren to get past this problem they have. John does still have a scorpy issue or two to deal with.

I think next week is a break for us. Some humor and lighter plot. Some fun and action to relieve the roller coaster we've been through from last season to now. Maybe we get another ep or 2 without Zhann, but I don't think she's gone long. I do think this though, She'll be back just in time to help through some major trouble with John and Scorpy. I think that Union thingy will come into play in that. She will help him get rid of that for good, but not before it helps him destroy scorpy's big plan. I think the closeness between John and Zhann should be explored more. It seems to be a strong friendship and I really enjoy their dialog's.

Anywho, just some bits from me. You know I get mouthy after I see the latest ep's. All and all, a good ep and I look forward to next week, but more than that, I look forward to beyond.

Zhaan's final monologue was great, and very touching. She's been the heart and soul of the group, so her passing needed to be special. It did seem final, but??? I agree that Zhaan's being a plant could give an interesting way to bring her back. Virginia Hey sure makes it sound like she is not gone for good, so lets hope they are creative about bringing her back.

Stark's comments to Aeryn about how Zhaan entered death "ready", but he wouldn't always be able to face it was the first time I've liked his character. Still wish he was the one to get frelled though!

Yep, I do like Jool. It was nice that they included a scene where they discussed why she isn't dead yet. I was beginning to wonder about that...and it made the Doc's lab a little more sinister. Anyway, Jool's a spoiled brat who suddenly finds herself in a most distasteful situation and she doesn't have the faintest idea how to deal with it. I really don't think she's all that much like Chiana. Superficially maybe (both pretty and self centered), but their backgrounds are totally different. Chiana's had a rough life and that makes her do what it takes to get by. Jool was privileged and thinks she's better then everyone else (I thought her being on a fancy vacation then waking up on Moya absolutely hysterical). She's only going to do things because they make her do it, and hate every minute of it along the way. Chi and Jool will probably have the most fun relationship to watch!

Rigel had a chance to shine and grow too. Zhaan's passing disturbed him greatly, and I like his newly expressed affection for Moya and Pilot. A nice way to shift his character without changing his interaction with the rest of the crew. Not sure Pilot's too keen about it though *LOL*

I actually really like the way Stark deals with Rygel. He knows how to manipulate Buckwheat pretty damn well and as sad as I was at Zhaan's passing, I LOL at Rygel fawning over Pilot and Pilot having no clue why.

Im going to hold off on any speculation at this point. I was so exhausted while watching this ep that I cant remember anything I may have wanted to say.
