Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Television: Mad Mad House
Mad Mad HouseWe have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
Saw a few more commercials for this "reality show" (I would call it a gameshow, really) called Mad Mad House which puts normal people into a big haunted house filled with Alternative Lifestyle folks who judge the normal folks and then all the fun ensues. Anyone see the ads?
Yea, looks like a Supernatural themed Big Brother. 5 Alternative lifestyle residents, put the "normal" guests through different situations and judge their reactions and acceptance, and the 5 alternatives vote off the guests according to how they do on the tests, I believe.
Yes, that show looks interesting. Like a show between "Fear Factor", "Big Brother" and "Survivor".
Yeah, well there sure is a lot of controversy. All I know is that there are load of people in the whole and raw foods world who love Avacado and there are loads of Wiccas and Witches (and Wicca Witches) who love Fiona and therefore the potentially silly vampire and the general stiffness of the 10 normals will be a small thing to suffer. I hear that the Voodoo priestess is pretty cool too but I don't know too much about her. When does it start?
Thursdays, starting in early March I believe, so, perhaps March 4 is when the Thursday night line-up starts (Tripping the Rift, Mad Mad House and Scare Tactics, not sure if any other shows are slated for the Thursday night slot yet)
I wonder why Sci-Fi is doing so much of their own programming. There are loads of new stuff over at the site -- there wasn't before -- it was pretty slim-pickin's when I started this thread. Have you checked it out, Nomad and Sindatur? I am totally looking forward to Battlestar Galactica and when I read about Tripping the Rift I googled it and found the most appaulingly peurile and raunchy internet short film from 2000. I wonder if they can pull that one off. Its pretty saucy, nast, vile, and rude. Its sure to be a hit, eh?
I check Scifi Channel site occasionally, but, not religiously (perhaps 3 or 4 times a year)
http://www.pocketmovies.net/detail_99.html is where the original short film lives -- you can check it out for yourself.
Looks like a kid with too much time on his hands and a nifty 'puter got lucky if that clip is anything to judge by.
anyone check out the show last night? if it matters, I think that noel should have gotten the boot. what a jerk.
I watched it. It could be an interesting show. I really gotta get used to the characters. Very strange indeed. But, I think that the "get back to your roots" crap was just that...CRAP..and a copout. Didnt everybody think he was just in it for the money?
I think that was a complete shaft as well. There are rumors that Don is going to hit on the pretty boy who voted the last guy -- from a BBC interview with the vampire.
That Madmad house was such a weird show. Those people would actually bathe in a pool of blood if got them on tv
Many people apparently will do just about ANYTHING to get on tv. Bragging rights, perhaps? Ego inflation? Stars in eyes? Feh.
I suspect alot of the really gross things we see on Reality shows are really what they appear. Fear Factor, for instance, I often thought, geez, not only is that gross, but you could catch something deadly (for example, having to carry rotting fish in your mouth).
Yeah I suppose that it was fake that makes a lot of sense if was and they would sued big time if were real.
I did not get to watch the whole thing last night. I watched the end where they got rid of the "nice catholic boy". I thought for sure the oriental girl would have gone. Maybe she redeemed herself by joining in the "womens" ritual.
hey what wrong with catholics?
Nothing at all wrong with them. Im one. Anyway, it just may be that htey cant get by their religiouns enough to participate fully and thus were asked to leave.
okay but why they go on the show then?
MRMystic, no idea. Perhaps we shall see or read an interview from them at a later date.
