WARNING!
Spoiler information for those that have not seen Part One.

An EXCELLENT show.

The entire “crystallization” and “uncrystallization,” thing aside, I liked the way the opening sequence was done. It allowed people who may not have seen the series to get up to speed enough to know what’s going on. Without looking like it was meant to do that. Very nicely done.

During the series, we were hipped to the Peacekeeper’s original mission as actual peacekeepers before they got all “pushy” and “do what we say or we’ll fry ya.” The whole revelation that the Peacekeepers (Sebaceans) were at one time humans!

WOW!

Was that the inference dropped by the Idellon?(sp) That they had taken humans from Earth? Accelerating their development and genetically altering them? He did say that they did this 2,700 cycles (years) ago and that they were barely clothed. That would mean around 700b.c. on Earth. Were humans really barely clothed at that time? This would have been the Post-Mycenaean and Geometric Period in the Aegean, the Golden Age in Armenia, and the time that Rome was founded. The Olmec civilization was flourishing and building pyramids in south-central Mexico. The Chinese were recording solar eclipses (records which survive to this day. Granted not the entire planet was as advanced as these areas, but barely clothed?

Could it be just an error of the writers? Or a purposeful plot ploy to make the viewers think? Could it be that the Idellons(sp) took humans from Earth 27,000 years ago and not 2,700? Could it be that I'm just thinking too much about this? ;-])

On another note, what’s up with the pregnant Grayza? Did I miss the episode in which she got knocked up? This isn’t the result of her seduction of Crichton in “What Was Lost, Part 2: Resurrection” Is it?

Part One of the mini-series will be rebroadcast next Sunday before Part Two.

I agree, frelling great show!

Weird to see Jothee again, I liked the way D'argo said hello to him!

Outstanding! I agree with Qray. Very well done... My jaw also dropped when I say Grayza pregnant. I was getting the feeling the father was they guy she slipped the mickey to???

So, basically, chrighton asked for them to remove the wormhole knowledge from his head. Doesnt want it. Cool the way he proved his point to the Scarrans. Brought him right into see the other beings. Way cool.

Cant wait to see the rest!

I thought it was great too, and it felt like a speeded up Season 5. I was wondering why Jewel departed from the crew so quickly, now we know, it was to introduce us to the Idolons (Sp?). Also, it really bugged me that Jothee was only used to drive a wedge between Ka D'Argo and Chiana, so it was nice to see that played out.

I too was wondering about Grayza being preggers, but, I missed quite a few episodes of Season 4, so, I thought it was just me missing something.

Can't wait for Part II tonight.

Saw both parts, and not having gotten to see most of Season 4, it really did get me up to speed. I'd also gotten to see the final ep from Friday afternoon, which helped. Gives a new meaning to "blown to bits," don't you think?

The whole thing with Rygel brought some nice comic relief. Enjoyed that.

OK, majorly depressed at D'argo's passing. Was there any doubt then that John and Aeryn would name their son anything else?

Scarrans and Sebaceans must be smarter than humans. We've stared at mutual assured destruction and not blinked. Good for them.

I like a happy ending, but do you get the feeling Scorpy wasn't too pleased with how it all turned out? He gets off on the chaos. And I guess his little chicky-traitor died, but we never saw the body, or the body of the guy with the doctor.

I thought Pilot's reaction at hearing of D'argo's death was rather poignant. What they do with a puppet and voice is amazing.

As MerleZ said Spoilers follow, so if you haven't seen it yet and you didn't see Merle's comments, turn back now and watch both parts.

Wow, what a frelling emotional rollercoaster. First we lost Jewell in part 1, then D'Argo in part 2, it was heart wrenching, and poor Chiana, she had decided to take the big leap with D'Argo, but, he had a hero's death, I don't think he could've been prouder of the way he went out. I agree about Pilot, I fought back the tears with Chiana's last moments with D'Argo, and him going Rambo while laying there, but, when Pilot said "Ka D'Dargo's dead"?, that was all it took, my eyes just started leaking profusely, and they're welling up now, recounting the experience.

I really enjoyed it, as a fan who saw most of the first 3 season's and about half of Season 4, it was incredibly action packed, and very fast paced, although I think I would've preferred to see it unfold over the course of a fifth season, but, it was really nice that we at least got to see the Reader's Digest version of Season 5 (I don't mean anything insulting by that, I just think that as fast paced and packed as it was, and emotionally wrenching at so many points, that it easily could've been stretched over the course of a 5th season). I wonder what we didn't get to see that would've been side stories or stand alone filler episodes?

I can only speculate that we probably would have seen a more in depth storyline regarding Humans being the ancestors of the sebascians.

Imagine my utter horror to find I cannot get Sci-Fi channel at my new house :(

I was heartbroken to miss this. Hoping for a video release!

TM - It took a while for them to start putting out Farscape DVD's, but now that all four seasons are out, perhaps the mini-series will follow in short order from it's final airing. I guess it all depends on how the ratings do. As long as the ratings stay up for the mini-series, they probably won't do a DVD (to keep people coming back to their cable channel and watching (just a guess.)) On the other side, I don't see The Peacekeeper War on SciFi's schedule past this weekend. Perhaps a good sign for a DVD release.

Master--I cancelled cable TV. And even this isn't worth $50 a month. So I had to spend 2 hours on the exercise bike at the gym last night to see as much of Farscape as I could. Now I have sore calves and a really sore - - - ooops. But if they put out an all day marathon, I'm going to have to get into shape.

Thanks Gail for letting me know Part Two was on last night. I thought it was going to be broadcast on Sunday for the first time.

WARNING!
Spoiler information for those that have not seen Part Two.

Very powerfull. Very emotional. V-e-r-y well done. Great cinematography. The way the space scenes blurred when the wormhole consumed the planet and ships, seemed to set a better scene than if they were clearer. For me, it really changed how I would've felt if it were done clearer. Guy Gross' orchestral score was perfect and really increased the emotional scope of the scenes for me (btw, the soundtrack is already for sale, if you didn't know. Check out SciFi.com's Farscape page for a link.) The acting was excellent as always and the writing top drawer.

I agree with everyone else that if given the time and resources, the mini-series could have played out in an entire season. Part Two seemed very fast paced, but only a few times did it seemed rushed. Considering the immensity of the story trying to be told in two parts, I guess I can let that slip ;-])

I was a little disappointed that the Sebaceans were at one time Human angle wasn't played out more, but that obviously wasn't the focus of the mini-series. Possibly a nice jab by Kemper or another to say "this is what you could have looked forward to if there was a season 5. This is a storyline we had planned."

Nice to see Jothee's and D'Argo's reunion. With the constant talk between D'Argo and Chiana about Rygel's offer for them all to return with him to Hyneria, I was really hoping the entire crew would make it through the mini-series, though I had this underlying feeling somebody would die. I never expected it to be D'Argo though. Considering how many times we've seen people die and come back in the series, right up to the end I was fully expecting D'Argo to be saved. I really wanted to see Chiana and D'Argo standing together on Hyneria. Anthony Simcoe and Gigi Edgley did such an excellent job in the scenes they had together.

Even with the fast pace of the mini-series, it was nice to see each person's reaction to D'Argo's death. Like everyone else, I thought Pilot's reaction was very piognet. Very powerfull.

I still want to know what was up with Grayza's knocked-upness. Possibly another story line that we may have seen had there been a season five. I agree that it was hinted at that the father was the dude she whacked, but I'm thinking there is more.

I was surprised that Einstein gave the knowledge of wormhole weaponry to Crichton, especially after saying in Part One that "no one should have that knowledge."

Perhaps he and his people thought that it was the best way to lesson the threat the Peacekeepers and Scarrans posed to their universe. [shrug]

Unfortunately, it looks as this may be the end eh? Everything was wrapped up nicely by the mini-series.

Iz - See, your taking the high road. I would've gotten a cheap hotel room that had cable ;-])

It would've been worth the thirty some dollars ;-])

As far as the 2700 cycles, not every planet has a cycle that is 365 days. Maybe their planet had a cycle(year) that was 500 or 600 days? The writers could use that to take the event back further into our history.

Well Master, if you want to have someone tape it for you, it's being shown in it's entirety this weekend (part 2 will be repeated tonight, as Part 1 was repeated last night)

hmmmm, would it be tacky to ask my cousin to turn it on at his place during his wedding reception?

Iz, for watching at that time, yea, that would probably be seen as tacky. Recording it at your cousin's reception would probably not be considered overly tacky, LOL

A good point, twans. Though I've always thought there was a galactic standard, that has just been an assumption on my part.

I'm also not sure if I heard it correctly during Part One. At one point I could swear that they said the Idellons(sp?) were suspended in time for 1,200 years (which would jibe with them taking humans from Earth 2,700 years ago.) At another time I could swear they said the Idellons had been suspended in time for 12,000 years. Which would mean of course that they couldn't have taken humans off Earth 2,700 years ago, but rather 27,000. I'll have to try and watch again the next time it's on and see which it is.

Then again, barely clothed could simply be a figure of speech on the Idellon's part to mean not very advanced. To a space faring race, even Greece at the peek of it's power could be seen as being barely clothed.

Iz - What's more important, the opinion of your family, or watching some good science fiction.

Er...guess I'm the wrong person to ask ;-])

Well gang, I'm still here (who cares right?).
Thing is, I drive the "big" truck up into WA. state on Sunday's so I taped the first part hoping to watch it on Monday before Pt. two aired but....
I love baseball and hate the (best team that money can buy) Yankees and the BoSox have been coming back after having been down 3-0 over the last few days so I've yet to watch but the first 30 min. of Pt. one. (which was like putting on an old shoe in terms of how comfortable the mini felt and the CGI/EFX was first rate).

FYI. Game 7, BoSox 8, Yankees 1 as I type this.
Woo Freling Hoo!

After I have the chance to enjoy the *Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars* tapes in their entirity I'll post my thoughts.

BTW, Claudia has popped into the SFC Farscape BBoard to say hi.
You can reply and share the love: Here

Hey Zim! As your driving that rig around, can you do us in Florida a favor, and destroy any cars you see with a "Vote for Ralph Nader" bumper sticker. He's about to screw up the elections in Florida yet again.

Also, if you see any available land up Washington way, the entire state of Florida is looking to move. We've had it with hurricanes. We we're thinking something near the Canadian border, away from from moving tectonic plates. We can bring our own highways, wildlife, and sand.

Also, for any interested buyers: Large flat peninsula (minor storm damage) for sale, cheap. Contact your local FEMA office.
