Was it just me, or did this Scarran have a much smaller head than the others? I mean it was tiny wasn't it? :)-

The Scarran had a tiny head and red eyes--perhaps he was still a juvenile--which might explain why Dargo would protect him. I get the feeling a lot of dialog and background got cut from this script, because there were a whole lot of non-sequiturs. Another thing about the Scarran--glitch or intentional?--he had flesh colored arms, like human arms. I don't know. Extra Rygel props, partially costumed Scarrans--the more I look at this episode, the more the word "low budget" comes to mind. Especially as one of the characters was just a bunch of play-dough spread out on a table.

On the bright side! Monday thru Thursday, B5 and Farscape back to back! Now that's a hell of a line up. And both story arc's started on the same day. I also noticed that Farscape is being advertised on the TV Guide channel--so it clearly seems to be an anchor program for SciFi.

OK, just a few comments. Over all, I liked this story line. Yes, it did seem a little weird that D'argo was so protective of his "scarren friend", and I think that maybe he was skinny and all because he was also a prisoner and I am sure, not fed very well. Chianas newest friend would have been a hoot. Male and female? Chiana looked VERY exited on that prospect. I liked the way they are handling the John/Aeryn situation. Yeah, Id give it atleast 3 eps before things start to get more cozy between the 2. Man, some of you guys really are putting this show on a pedistal. I expect some cheesiness here and there qand actually enjoy it, but then again , I enjoy it more when they put together a good ep fo rthe ARC.

Bottom line, it's not B5. But still better than any other scifi going right now. Remember, sometimes characters get to do stupid things because the writers require them to in order to advance the overall story. Happened in B5, too. (Sheridan got to do most of the stupid stuff.)

Hey, maybe all Hynerians just look alike to us?

The PK's had removed a gland or something from the Scarran that basically neutered him and made him not a threat. That was a key reason why he was so wussy. And I think Dargo took him under his wing because he was looking for a cause and because the PK's had really screwed this Scarran.

I finally got to see this episode. I liked it more than a number of them lately.

Thanks for the information about the Scarran, Azziz. I'd missed what effect the removal of the gland would have. It did seem odd that D'Argo was protective of him.

I really liked Chiana's buddy, too bad she had to go.

So the PK in the cell had some kind of telepathic
talents and could affect the little robots?

It was effective the way Aeryn mentioned something John couldn't know about.

The music was cloying.

I agree that it is possible that all Hynerians look alike to us. It is an intriguing SF concept in fact, and I think I've read stories containing the idea that the humans couldn't tell the aliens apart at first and had to learn how the aliens could tell each other apart. I suspect that aliens couldn't tell many of us apart if they didn't have similar body structures.

The rescue scene had me on the edge of my chair- very well done! I haven't been that excited about a Farscape episode for some time. I agree about the screams from the standpoint that she would need to inhale air at some point to make the screams- and of course she would not have been able to do that. If they are aquatic maybe they are adjusted to use very little air to make sounds? The little bodies wouldn't hold much volume of air.

Over all- I add this to my list of favorite episodes.

Ummmmmmm, Bmat? Space is a vacuum. No air. Sound is the vibration of molecules bumping around. So no molecules=no sound. Space is silent, like in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Hynerians:

I don't think they do look alike. It seem to me that in the episode where Rygel defects to Scorpius, and is put in the room with all the decaptitated Hynerian heads, that they all looked slightly different. Also, when Zhaan paints her spirit portrait of Rygel, he says that it makes him look like Rygel the First. So I still think the female Hynerian looked like Rygel because it was a Rygel puppet with a wig, and not for any othe reason, however creative.
