back when I was a kid I remember watching a show on TV in which most of the people on earth had been turned to dust (by a solar flare??) there were a few survivors that had been in total darkness while this happened. The show was american and I remember seeing the outlines of the victims (in dust) around their clothes... Any ideas to the name of this... it's been driving me nuts!!!!

Sounds like the movie Night of the Comet, but it wasn't neccessarily kept in darkness, but rather away from the damaging effects of outside. Some people, rather than being turned to dust, were turned into zombies.
