Synopsis:

The crew comes across an abandoned ship of dead aliens.

As they continue their deep space exploration, the Enterprise crew comes across an alien ship where they discover 15 humanoid corpses that seem to have been part of a scientific experiment. The horrific sight inspires Hoshi to panic and demand a return to Earth, but Archer insists on continuing the mission and finding out more about the abandoned dead. Trouble comes calling when the aliens that were conducting the gruesome experiments return and begin attacking Captain Archer and his team.

I did not see this episode on our list, so Im adding it.

Nomad, FYI.
We kind of carried the conversation over into the *Broken Bow* topic for this ep. when the show first started.

This to me was/is the weakest of the episodes aired to date for reasons I posted in the afore mantioned topic. Rack it up to character building I guess. They are thankfully doing a better job with the last few.
Funny thing. This is listed as # 3 on the Trek site (ENT 003) so what happened to # 2? They have yet to air that one.

I believe they put 001 and 002 as Broken arrow. Split up to 1 hour each. I could be wrong.

Well, this was the first time I'd seen this episode. It didn't clear much up for me, but it was interesting to see some earlier character interactions.

Hoshi sure freaked, didn't she? Can't say I blame her. All I could think was, Holy cow, they walked right into a Stephen King book. Reminded me of Tommyknockers. Yuck. Except, of course, the alien victims were dead, and in Tommyknockers the victims weren't, but still.... And she was properly humiliated at her loss of control, so I felt for her. That's happened to me, too, and it's very unpleasant to suddenly realize you're no longer in charge of yourself. I think if I'd been in her place I'd have needed a change of underwear myself.

I thought Hoshi's sudden fluency a bit strange, also, until I considered that maybe she's been working on the language for the past two days and knew more than she thought she did. And maybe something the alien captain said to her made something click. If she's got a gift for languages she might be able to pull that off. I have no gift for languages, so it would seem like magic to me.

Archer sure wasn't getting along so well with T'Pol, was he? I kinda wanted to slap that smug look off her face myself, though. She seems to have loosened up a bit in later episodes, or at least is hiding her contempt for Humans and their propensity to let their curiosity make their decisions for them a little better.

The slug thing was just a little... surreal? Phlox and Hoshi discussing the slug, but they're really discussing her. Hmmm. Well, okay. Somebody enlighten me... can Humans breathe an Argon-based atmosphere? That's what Hoshi said the slug needed, an Argon-based, or was it Argon-rich, environment. It's been a long time since Chemistry for me.
