Everyone around me seems to be stressed at the moment so I thought I'd find out whether it's a general condition- related to the weather, state of the world, that sort of thing or whether it's specific to my local area. So please could people spill the worst and best things happening in their life at the moment.
Mine- worst exams
Best- probs my friends- they're being v nice and supportive

This is a very vague idea so please feel free to go off topic or whatever

Best and worst things? Um, jeeze, that's not an easy task you've set for us there. The best thing in my life. You guys of course, being so lovely and supportive, oh and my a-level topics (yay!) and the worst has got to be moving up north (sobs uncontrollably) and Spreads leaving. (Going off topic slightly though. Do you think we should talk to Miss Smith about our three person drama captain thing?)

Let's see...

Worst- worry about the world situation, terrorism, the direction the uS may be headed.

Best- my husband, family, and friends. The people I work with.

Worst? Oh that's easy: Dr. B. gave us homework, a ton, of very long, very difficult Latin homework, ON TOP of studying for the SOLs. Grrr. :(

Best? Hmm, probably that I have three John Maddox Roberts books stitting, just begging to be read downstairs and that I'm going to a play sometime this weekend.

Worst: Finals. Burn baby burn!
Best: Senior week. After Monday, I don't graduate 'til Sunday the... 25th or whatever, so essentially I've got two weeks to lounge around, look bored, and laugh at all my non-senior friends.

Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

No. It's a matter of when. Not talking about a single incident.

Yet, love can be ecstasy and agony at the same time. It depends on what is meant by the word. Unrequited love is this way.

Worst - Work. I like it, I enjoy it, but it's tremendously frustrating due largely to other people's screwups. And it eats 5/7ths of my time almost entirely. The remaining 2/7ths are spent recuperating, leaving me with 0/7ths for my own pursuits. But I'm excelling, exceeding my limits, and getting benefits. Also paying the bills. So even the worst isn't all bad.

Best - Love. I can't say that I've never felt closer to my girl (due to schedule conflicts, we rarely get time together). But I've never felt more certain. She continues to inspire me, after 6 years.

Also bad - The frailty of the human body. I want one of those star trek medical scanners...and their medical repair equipment! I can hear my body getting older.

Also good - Reading a good book (Footfall by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle) and playing a good sci-fi PC game (Rules of Engagement by Omnitrend) takes me into the land of imagination. Takes me back to the good ol' days of carefree early teen life. It's a mindset where there were no bills or bureaucrats, and the world was simple to live in, but infinitely complex to think about.

Strangely enough, dropping college and the state of the world have little effect on my mood.
