A man walks with single purpose
One found within the heart
Throughout a world with mercy no more
That we are all a part

Pensive he sits, deep with thought
A man alone with his mind
A man with a mission not yet complete
A race to save all human kind

He fights a losing battle with foes
That come from below and above
A horror wrought by our own actions
Verse a troubadour of love

His enemies are us ourselves
Our hate, our pride, our slough
He walks for we have no more saviors
Our cries have called him forth

Emotions become evil without control
And none know how to cope
But he will fight all that kill us
With a shield of blinding hope

Very nice. :)

Certainly the first 3 parts imply the soldier is a person, but in the last two, I get the impression the soldier isn't a person as such, but an idea used to 'blind us with hope.' In other words we hide behind ideas.

Probably not how you meant it, but it just reads that way to me. Interesting ideas there ;)
