Thanks guys! I think i have figured out what i'm going to do. Master, yes i would make sure to give related races some similar characteristics (elves have wierd ears ect.) Thanks for all you help guys!
humn about the tainted elf issue, don't know if you have read the Dark Elf trilogy but if you haven't you might want to try doing that. It's by salvotore, basically creating a whole new race of elves called the Drow who are basically the complete opposite of elves. Dark skinned, evil, and I mean way beyond anything i have read in while, (killing your own mother just to gain a favorable position with their queen God.) if you have read it disregard what i have said, here. if you intend to create a different genre then the DROW(dark elf) then ignore what i am saying
Oh i was just using it as an example. I actualy have read book one in the dark elf trilogy and am very familiar with drow. Thankks though!
Do you guys think that "Shrylings" as the name of a race would be ok to use. I was concerned that "Shry" sounded to much like "the shire" from Tolkien. What do you guys think? Would anybody become distracted by the resemblence?
It depends, are the things hobbit-like??? Otherwise, I don't think I would.
What Krastakin said.
Not realy, more like elves.... There more shy, and secluded, but there farely exotic. The have blue-ish skin and no fur on there feet.
Then that wouldn't be an issue for me.
Cool thanks... I was getting worried...
Same here Khael. That wouldn't bother me at all, especially after a few minutes looking at...err...little blue men from mars?? ;P
