the pim standardisation by who me on Sun May 31, 2009 1:06 pm
Dark Knight, yes toasters and toast sizes will also be standred, the ministy of health will determin the sise of the toast along with the bakers guild.
the ministry of technick will be responsible for toasters.
but remember unsliced bread will not be standrdised and if you wish it to fit in to your toaster you will have to cut the slices to fit.

Q, all books must be made to fit the normed sizes so coffie table books will nolonger exist.
thouse that were prodused befor the great pim standardisation will be relicks of a by gone age were books simply did not fit on shelves.

there are a number of other things that we will cahnge.
first day light savings time will be gotton rid of.
it is a pain for all.
it does not save energy.

The Epos of the Soul Crystal by Loxley on Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:54 pm
Yes, yes, I've finally started my outlining of the book, and the intended series have finally been named. As has the first book. I give you, "The Creotian War".

I've so far outlined prologue and chapter one. Still WAYS to go and currently stuck. I'll work it out. I daresay, however, this version of the "original Everlain story" is MUCH better than the one I had in mind the first time around. Mainly because that one sounded like some fantasy cliché, while this one sounds like a fantasy version of the Trojan Wars. 8) Well, anyways, this one has a much better feel to it as well than the original story, and I think I really needed to let that idea rest for a few years before it was ripe enough to get written.

In that aspect, the book I wrote in the Everlain world served a two-fold purpose (even if it wasn't intended as such in the beginning). Firstly, it gave me experience with writing ...

BMX's unpredictability makes it a predictable Olympic success? by Qray on Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:33 am
There's an article by Alyssa Roenigk over at ESPN Magazine which I've included near the end of this entry in which she states BMX's unpredictability makes it a predictable Olympic success.

I certainly hope so, but if the exposure NBC gave the sport is any indication, it won't be a success. 74 seconds of racing in a 5 minute block not in Prime Time doesn't foster success. That's it, kids. 74 seconds. That was it.

Granted, BMX isn't such a perennial favorite as diving, but compare the coverage of the two. They would discuss each diver before they climbed up the dive platform, they'd show the dive, show the dive again slow-motion, show still shots of the dive, show the dive in slow-motion again, cut to scoring and reaction shots of the diver, then talk about the diver some more.

Now the coverage for BMX. Cut to Costas saying "...and now we go to BMX. I'll be honest, I don't know anything about it. But it's exciting." Then they...

Brief Comment about Chipper by Bmat on Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:55 am
I sighed sadly this afternoon when I realized that our Guard Cat, so to speak, is gone.

Chipper was such a scaredy cat that anytime someone came to the door or drove down our driveway, Chipper would take off and fly through the cat door leading to the basement. When I heard that clunk of the door, I knew there was someone near the house.

Last night Sammy, the orange cat, hopped up onto the computer desk. When I lifted him down, he paused and looked and looked around the room. He is used to being attacked by Chipper when Sammy is in the office. After looking around for a while, Sammy decided that Chipper must be waiting in ambush outside the office door to the hallway. So Sammy dashed across the hallway into the bathroom.

It appears that it will take Sammy a while to realize that he doesn't need to hide from Chipper anymore.

:(

ETA: When I went to the basement today I had a moment of sadness. Chipper...
