Snapping a Gate

Permanent Linkby Qray on Thu Aug 27, 2009 10:07 am

"Snapping" a Gate...when getting out of the Start Gate, you want to get as much momentum moving forward as possible. The best way to do this is to drive both your hips and shoulders forward.

There are a lot of details and fine points on how to best accomplish this, but the essence is simply to get those body parts moving to create forward momentum (that's right kids, science is involved in BMX!)

The way you move to create this forward explosion of body and bike is called a "snap."

White House Considers Charging Wounded Heroes for Treatment.

Permanent Linkby Qray on Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:40 pm

The concept that such an idea could even be thought is unsettling. But ok...sure, I could see that maybe they were all brainstorming and it just came out, "what if we screw over the brave and honorable people who sacrifice more than we can ever know for our country."

But then immediately it should've been said. "NO."

Anyone with even an ounce of common sense or even a modicum of integrity would've immediately said "NO."

There is nothing that needs to be "considered" about this. The answer is "No."

Anybody for World Superbike Racing?

Permanent Linkby Qray on Sun Mar 15, 2009 3:02 am

Anybody following World Superbike racing?

This week's races in Qatar were incredible. A three way battle between Spies, Haga, and Biaggi in both races. With the American Spies taking both wins on his Yamaha. I know it's a bit early to be talking about it, but could it be possible that an American could win the championship as a rookie? A World Superbike rookie, that is. Spies already has 3 AMA Superbikes championships.
