Doesn't George RR Martin's current series do this as well? He's got at least 10 "main" characters that he keeps switching back and forth between.

I think it's effective and a fine device to use as long each character is distinct.

WOW. I have no critique to offer other than....WOW. And post the rest of the story!

It was gripping immediately, the imagery was perfect balanced, I don't know what else to say, except I that I really, really liked this.
