Setting a story in Canada would be a risky move if trying to target an american audience, but I guess it entirely depends on how it's written, and what the subject matter is. Take The Shipping News for example; a story that's (mostly) set in Canada takes place in the abstract and often bizarre Newfo...

For instance, I'm looking for a term that would descibe names like "teacher, father, mother, guardian, master" etc... So basically a term that defines someone in position of authority... any take...

You have potential, unlike many of the members here. I don't need to reiterate the comments about the similar-sounding names. Also, Starwalker sounds cheesy as hell - think of a new name. You're smart because you're concious of the imortance of building nuance around your characters, but pay careful...

Will you compensate me if I say, "Find a new hobby"? I think that's the only way I can help. I haven't been here long, but it's obvious to me that anyone who claims their work is going to be published yet is on an amateur site looking for critique is just plain delusional. My recomondation is that y...

I can't help it...
I can't help it...I'm very opinionated when it comes to religion - I'll try my best to behave. I'm not here to start conflict, but Christianity just gets under my skin. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Bill Hicks
in the words of the late, great Bill Hicks: "Today, a young man on acid realized That all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration; that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we are the imagination of our...

Thanks for everyones greets! It's always a sign of a good forum when you get several sincere welcomes (and even some early suggestion!) Qray - that sounds like an intriguing novel - I'll definitely look for it. While there are many novels that cover the theme of an expended Earth and the inevitable ...
