With ultimate power comes ultimate responsibility. Having said that, I'd probably remain ascended for a short time and probably then leave of my own volition rather than get kicked out, unless of course I fell in love with another ascended being and decided to stay for that reason only. But even the...

This may sound totally whacked out and weird, but I've noticed a few strange things about the whole UFO/alien abduction phenomenon. It's also something that I have noticed, to a differing degree in science fiction cinema, particularly from the USA. Because of my particular genotype, I can't help but...

Yeah, my geology teacher really helped my science fiction writing quite a lot. I actually did a geological survey of the planet Arrakis, explaining why (on a geological level) it was all desert. On a whim, I also took Oceanography with the same teacher and THAT helps my writing quite a lot too.

I actually don't read (or write) that much concerning evil overlords, to be totally honest, but what I have noticed is that the overlords I am attracted to the most have something that I can relate to, even if this manner of relating isn't actually sympathetic. Of course, when I think of an evil ove...

My computer froze and I guess I hit "Submit" one too many times, which explains the double post. Sorry about that!

[Not a problem. :) Extra post removed. Bmat]

Greetings all! I am actually at work on a piece of fiction that I'll be posting soon...so keep your eyes open. And yeah, Qray, I've also noticed that there seems to be a lot more fantasy than science fiction out there; I like 'em both, but I think that science fiction has lost a bit of its popularit...

Nice story! Impressive. There was a bit of echoing, in the beginning, between the phrases "...wrong with them" and "...wrong with him." In some cases this can work as a kind of poetic resonance, but here it just seemed a bit awkward. That's something VERY easily fixed however, s...

Yeah, Ariel...that was the reaction quite a few peolpe gave that story. That MIGHT explain why I've refrained from submitting it.

Oh, there's plenty of blame to go around, and it would also be easy to say that the bulk of it rests on Anakin's shoulders, since he IS the one who made the choice to take a walk on the Dark Side in the first place. But beyond that, I actually blame (and pity) the Jedi a bit more. I think the Jedi r...

I'd always liked fiction and knew since I was about 10 or 11 that I'd probably be a writer...though it wasn't until I was 12 that I put together my first attempt at a novel...ugh...it was atrocious...I'm glad it's long gone...but anyway, I didn't really have a good (as in inspiring) English teacher ...

Two words: Anakin Skywalker. Pre-Darth Vader, he was a kid on a rather improbable desert planet who grew up into a really conflicted post adolescent who made the mistake of falling in love and wanting to protect the queen-who-became-a-senator he adored since he was that backwater kid (and slave) on ...
