The Truth In Lies

Postby SpookyKatie » Tue Oct 10, 2006 7:20 pm

My try at a story!
I had a friend on my DeviantART site help me with the grammer.
If you want to see it and some of my other stuff there go click on that www thing down there. :D

~~~
Today I took a walk to clear my mind
I passed many people talking how great their lives are
When they’re really not.
I see couples holding hands with false love in their eyes
Not true to their words of forever.
So I stop and yell
"It's just a lie you all live! How can you live day to day telling lies?!"
But no one seemed to hear me
They just keep walking with every step they take of some new lie.
So I yell again and again
But I stop and softly I say "Why?"
Then a small girl of my younger years walks up to me and looks up with her gray blue eyes and says, "Because it all anyone knows. We all live a lie in hopes of making life better."
She looks down and pulls on her golden blond hair then looks back up at me with a sad smile.
"You lie about being happy, you’re afraid to be alone. You fool others with your fake smiles to make them think your ok. You cry when know ones there, you always sing a sad, sad song. How can you stand there yelling for truth when it's you who needs to be the one to speak it? You’re the one who's living a lie, they’re just a part of the lie." She says this with tears in her eyes. I look at her and can't believe what she said. I understand now and fall to my knees and cry. She puts her hand on my shoulder and I look up to her. Her eyes light up with crystal tears and she smiles and then hugs me, and softly she speaks "It's never to late to start over and learn from your mistakes."
I smile at her words.
I pull away and smile at her and tell her "Thank you. Thank you for telling me the truth. I never knew I was doing what I hate the most. I was letting myself live a lie, one I never knew I was living. I promise I'll learn to do better to live my life letting others know I feel. I will sing a happy song for now on."
I stand up and look around, I see the people I care for the most standing all around me with smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes. At last I see the truth I feel the love that was there all along, I am now free to live the way I want to; free of lies, with the people I care for, my friends who stayed by my side. I smile the truest smile and look down to the child that was me and take her hand and walk in to the embraces of my friends.
I liked it as well. The story really makes you think of your own actions.
I am the poet of the body and I am the poet of the Soul. The pleasures of heaven are with me and the pains of hell are with me. The first I graft and increase upon myself, the latter I translate into a new tongue.
I've had days like, bein' the Mr. Gloomy who rages about all the happy couples, walking around with the permanent raincloud over my head, until a random pretty girl smiles at me and mellllt.
It is quite true that the clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society.
Living a false existence
Postby churchill » Fri Jun 15, 2007 3:40 am
Yeah, I go with the sadness of putting on a false face.
Why do we act that way? I guess because we're socialized into thinking that "freedom" is the goal, but if I show my true colours, what will X think, or how will I be financially punished by Y. And when we get anywhere near to being free, we either don't know what to do with it or else we just squander it.
To enjoy life and be honest about it, you really need to put in a lot of thought.
