Fire

Postby nightlock » Thu Apr 14, 2011 3:07 am

While her angelic beauty sets his heart ablaze,
watching from afar, eyes glimmer with desire,
he can do naught but sing her praise.

Highlighted by the sun's morning rays,
and playful wind in her hair, reminding him of glorious fire.
While her angelic beauty sets his heart ablaze.

With her every feature carved to amaze,
and eyes a deep blue akin to sapphire,
he can do naught but sing her praise.

Like the stars that hold her gaze,
her lonely heart waits for love afire,
while her angelic beauty sets his heart ablaze.

Though fervently she hopes they might cross ways,
when she gets close he is as though stuck in mire.
he can do naught but sing her praise.

Then one day, while walking in a daze,
they meet and love spreads like wildfire,
while her angelic beauty sets his heart ablaze,
he can do naught but sing her praise.

Very nice nightlock. I like the repetition element, it works really well here.

Thanks.

It started as a sonnet, but I couldn't make it work within Iambic Pentameter so I went with the Villanelle style instead, which luckily, doesn't have a meter.
