RACES:

Image

HUMAN/Humans: The most common race in the world of Severnia. They largely populate the Middle Realms. They are known for their innovation, productivity, humour and fashion.

Image

ELF/Elves: The second most common race in SEVERNIA, largely populous in the Middle Realms. They appear close to Humans in resemblance, except for their pointed ears, sleek bodies and swift movement. They are well known for their magic, communication abilities, art, poetry and weaponry skills -- in use and creation. They are considered majestic, peaceful, true, quiet and unique -- one of the few mortal races to be capable of speaking with Unicorns. They often dress in and greens and browns, and their enchanting music is cherished the world over.

Image

DWARF/Dwarves: Short and often plump, traditionally with long beards, heavy and richly layered clothing or armour, broad-shouldered and stout in mind and body. Their women also have beards. They mainly live in the Lower Realms. Known for their incredible architecture, mining and warrior skills. They traditionally use the axe in conflict. They are seen as brave and wise, but also as private (as a race) and quick-tempered. Pride and honour mean a great deal to Dwarves, much like gold and riches.

Image

ORC/Orcs: Once Dwarves, but mutated through many centuries by the terrible evil of the Dark Imperators of the north. Now a sick and twisted race with green and often torn skin, usually wearing clothes made of the skin of their warrior prey. Orcs are intelligent, but hold little respect for life. They mainly live in the Northlands (Northern Realms), and still serve their dark masters.

Image

GOBLIN/Goblins: Short, brown or green-skinned creatures which resemble Orcs, only they have pointed ears, wear sleeker clothing and tend to live in their own, more civilized societies. Many in the Northern Realms still serve the Dark Imperators. Some in the Middle Realms or Lower Realms serve other evils, while other cultures are more peace loving. They rule Shaternu in the north. They do not make as good of warriors as the Orc, but they often make for master bowmen. They have a keen sense of smell, hearing and instinct. They are often slick merchants or cunning thieves.

Image

KLUNDOR/DARK ELF/Klundors: Once Elves who were twisted by the powers of the Dark Imperators. They led the evil forces against Severnia in the Great War. They have been feared ever sense, although most no longer serve their old masters. They are known for their secrecy, dark magics, wisdom and powerful minds. Their hair is dark, and they always dress in black. They are rarely trusted, although they are highly respected in many places. They are often seen in the Middle Realms. Their women are often treated as inferiors.

Image

NYMPH/Nymphs: A race closely related to the elves, who are female-only. Mysterious, magical and well known for their mind powers. A Nymph can usually enchant any Human male into being her lover that she desires. Few Human men can resist their ability. They are associated with peace, wisdom and nature. Most commonly in the Lower Realms.

Image

ROLC/Rolcs: A race bred between Orcs and Humans, as a part of an experiment by the Ancients after the Great War to bring the good and evil races together. It resulted in terrible violence, which destroyed the Ancients. Few Rolcs have survived the test of time, and most travel alone. They are smart, cunning and strong. Most commonly seen in the Middle Realms.

Image

FARGULU/Fargulus: Half Human, half Ogre. A terrible race of warriors created by the kingdom of Neseldin in the Great War. Few now survive, although hundreds of their kind roam the Middle Lands. Some are terrible, others noble. What they have in common is courage, great strength and ugliness.

Image

HOBGOBLIN/Hobgoblins: An evil super breed of Goblins created by the Dark Imperators of Neseldin for the Great War. They were seven-foot-tall, broad-shouldered Goblin-like beasts with furry brown hair, large white fangs and glowing red eyes. They fear no foe, other than mages. Now they have obtained more oof their own look, rat-like and furry. They are known for their savage nature, brown armour, loudness and great warrior passion. They still serve Neseldin, although some live independently, or in groups, in the Middle Realms.

Image

LICH/Lich: Once a fellowship of great wizards, but they fell during the Great War while batteling Neseldin. . They did not die, but remained -- the living dead. Mages of dark spells, now serve the dark kingdom of Syernia. Lich were once Humans, and are thin, with pale white skin, blue eyes, white hair. They rarely have beards and dress in black. They usually serve the far southern dwarvin kingdom of Syernia (In the Realm of Auvlym.) They carry magical jewels, and are the "living dead". Neither dead nor alive. Short of a beheading can kill them. Some can past as mist or shadow, but only for a short time. They are always evil, and are feared the world over. They serve the Dwarves of Syernia, and no one else.

Image

AASIMAR/Aasimars: Descendants from the Ancients, related also to Humans. Quiet, serene creatures with long manes of white-gold hair., and bright piersing eyes that seem to look right through a person. It is a rare soul who can stare an Assimar in the eye. They are fast, sleek craftsmen and warriors, although they often lack endurance in battle. They are known for their hand crossbow and poisoned dagger. They are most common in the Middle Realms. They carry with them much knowledge and skill that is otherwise lost to the world.

Image

SHAPESHIFTER/Shapeshifters: Elf-like race which were once servants and spies of the Ancients, now free to roam the world as they see fit. They are few, and usually remain convincingly in one form at a time, their identity well hidden. Their skill belongs to them alone. They are mystical, cunning and unpredictable.

KALUMAN/Kalumans: In ancient times, there existed a secret band of magicians in northeastern Koro named the Yellow Tide. They believed in perfection, and so created a "perfect" race. Tall, strong, with golden skin, a hairless body, yellow eyes, pointed ears, and flesh that feels like sand. Of a superior intelligence, passion and skill. But with superior ability came superior drive, came superior ambition. The Kalumans destroyed their elvin masters, and to this day lead the secret chapters once led by their former masters. They believe themselves to be gods, and throughout the world have earned many followers. The Kalumans are rarely seen in popular places, but their followers are scattered everywhere. They, like their former masters, believe in perfection. They demand it of their unders, by whip and scorn.

Image

FERAL/Ferals: Furry cat-like people whose fur comes in a wide variety of colors and designs. They wear little clothing, and typically carry "swinderes" -- a spear-like weapon with a long, wide bluish blade on either end. They are known for their wit, arts, and sensual personalities. They work well as individuals or as a group. They are typically matriarchal. They worship the Feral goddess Chemyra.

Image

DUERGAR/Duergars: Related to the Dwarf, but larger and stronger, and mightier in battle. They fought well against the evils in the Great War, however have waged many wars against Humans and Dwarves in the centuries following. They are lesser in most skills to Dwarves, but are renown for their thievery and land conquering. They often have black or dark red hair and beards, and green eyes that glow in the dark. Some are great mages.

Image

FOOT MEN: A small band of twelve undead warriors riding undead horses who are repelled by sunlight but are otherwise immortal, and unstoppable. They are great warriors, innovative and unyielding. By day they are hidden in the shadows. They were invisable spectres before Neseldin rose them into their present form, and only their footsteps were heard, marching forever in valueless service to Neseldin -- hence the name, the Foot Men.

Image

NARCALE/S: Constantly being mutated, there are multiple breeds of Narcales. They are large, fast creatures with icy gray skin and short horns who wield great battleaxes and large daggers. They require no sleep or rest, and cannot be stopped by ice, water or flame.

Image

OGRE/Ogres: Giant, furry brown creature about 15-feet-tall with large fangs, claws and fantastic strength. Black leathery skin. Smells of body odor. Breathe loudly. Seen throughout the world. Once servants of Neseldin, now few still are. They tend to be found hiding in the deep woods, by taller trees, large caves and rocky hills. They do not like loud noises, as it echoes the giant gongs used by Trolls to herd them like mindless dogs into battle.

Image

TROLL/Trolls: Once Ogres, but were evolved by the magic of the Dark Imperators into being superior in strength, intelligence, speed and innovation, while being smaller in size. Most are roughly 10-feet-high. Many still serve their old masters in the north, others lead evil ventures in the Middle or Lower Realms. Best known for their incredible blink-of-an-eye running speed.

Image

BUGBEAR/Bubears: A cross between Hobgoblins and Trolls created by the Green Circle during the War of Winds. They are smarter than Trolls but dumber than Hobgoblins. Their clumsy hands makes them poor builders, and so they tend to live as mercenaries or warriors for various causes, usually evil. They tend to wear armour, but little clothing. They speak the common tongue.

Image

HALF DEMON/S: The twisted intentions of a evil sorceress and a demon. In her lust for power she let open a gate way for demons to mate with humans. Fitting in with neither humans or demons by there own choice the offspring wander the land forever lost and forsaken. Looking like humans they live among the races unbothered and usually their heritage is unknown, very few share traits with their demon parents. With demon blood comes a certain amount of power, when mortally wounded or emotionally stressed the individual may go into a temporary demon form to gain power. They may also hold extraordinary strength speed and agility that makes them seem super human. Many Half Demons are aligned to an element like Earth, Air, Fire, or Water. Shadow Half Demons are considered neutral in the element area.

Image

WORM/Worms: Often mistaken at first glance as Dragons. Large serpent-like beasts who can eat men whole, crush them with their bodies, or burn them to ash with their fiery breath. Like Dragons, they come in a wide array of colours and appearances. None have legs. None can speak the common tongue, or understand it. Created by Neseldin during the Great War, now they are scattered over the world, some under the control of mages. They can travel on land or in water -- where they are called “Sea Serpents.”

Image

GRYPHON/Gryphons: Large lion-like beasts with the wings and hind legs of an eagle, and the tail of a serpent. They can appear and disappear at will. Sometimes seen as beautiful, kind and majestic, others as brutal, dark and crewel. They are always associated with spiritual wisdom, secret knowledge of the world, and are linked to Unicorns. They rarely bother with the goings and doings of mere mortals, although they had fought heroically in the Great War. They cannot be killed by mortal hand, it is said. Can talk in any known language.

Image

UNICORN/Unicorns: The most beautiful and majestic of all the world's creatures is the Unicorn. Renown for their mysterious nature and great healing ability -- their horn is said to heal any infliction. They have a magic which avoids the mortal eye, unless they wish to be seen. They can speak telepathically. Are associated with the woods and open fields, with peace and spiritual mystery.

Image

DRAGON/Dragons: Most terrible and mighty of all the Beasts, Dragons can fly quickly through the sky, rip towers to pieces with their mighty claws, or blast an entire army to death with a massive burst of fiery breath. Their scales are hard like steel, their flesh like leather. Few beings of the world have managed to kill a Dragon, besides great mages, or other beasts like Gryphons and Trolls, and then this would usually require large numbers. Dragons come in a wide array of colours and appearances. Some can speak the common tongue -- those upgraded by some magic. They prefer the high rocky mountains, lone islands and giant caves, wishing to avoid the complexities of the civilized world and all its noise. Some Dragons will serve a powerful mage or mighty ruler, but most have been living free as they like sense the end of the Great War, where Neseldin’s power over them ended. Dragons were once Worms, but were uplifted by evil magic. Some Dragons were purified by the Ancients, and remain friendly or at least non-destructive. Dragons are nearly immortals, and their life spans pass through countless centuries.

Image

MINOTAUR/s: In ancient times, a powerful and brute army of Neseldin. Fierce, strong, and determined. They were believed wiped out for many years, but it is now known that the Minotaurs have survived, still in loyal service to Neseldin. They prefer dark and moist places, known as "the army of the fog" as they prefer to sneak into battle unseen. Usually only seen in large groups.

Image

IMPERATOR/S: (Also known as the Dark Lords or High Lords.) Great human servants of the Ancients once, who learned of many of their magical secrets. The Imperators betrayed and destroyed their creators, breeding many races of armies to conquer the world. Their plot failed, mostly do to the Gryphons. But these powerful Immortal mages have survived, ruling still in their dark towers of Neseldin. They are plotting to conquer the world once and for all, with a little help from their secret weapon -- the Narcales.
