Looking for a word...

Postby AndForMyNextTrick... » Sat Jul 29, 2006 7:43 pm

This is quite probably an innapropriate place, but I am looking for a word for a piece of tech.

It can be a made-up word or an amalgamated word, as I'm not sure if it exists...?

So...

What would one call a device (or a weapon) that divides its biological target into its constituant cells, without actually disintegrating the cells themselves? Thus, you end up with an almost invisible cloud of single cells unable to function by themselves and therefore soon to expire.

Any ideas?

"Gooper Gun", since the cells would still be intact, you'd basically end up with a puddle of amoebas. It's not very technical, though.

How about something as simple as a Disruptor or a Bio-Disruptor?
