Convention, anyone?

Postby ola » Tue Jan 17, 2006 12:29 pm

As I'm writing my first (hopefully) real fanatsy book, I come to think that it would be nice and inspiring to visit a fantasy fair. Sadly (maybe I just search wrong) I was able to find one: in the Netherlands. Not quite where I am right now and where I can go very easily. So if you know about a fair, please post!

at the risk of exposing my self as a closet SF nerd. try looking under science fiction convention. or fantasy convention.
if you can find a comic book store or a role playing game store they will probably know where to go if not give you a ride.
cos-play people also have the habit of going to science fiction fantasy conventions.

but going to a convention will not help you wright. you will meet lots of fun/scary/strange people have a good /or lousy time.

things that make you a better writer is:
writing
reading
visiting speculative vision to talk to people about writing.

this message was brought to you by pim who was not paid to say or place the words speculative vision hear but would accept a check any way. :D

if you are on the east cost of the USA fan tek is the people to know, best conventions ever and there is no rule 7!

Thanx pim for the information.

I wasn't hoping o get a better writer by that, just hoped to see a little more of the fantasy world and might get some inspiration (e.g. by talking to those fun/scary/strange people :) )

Thank you a lot for posting!
