TV Guide's Sexiest Women of SF

Postby Bmat » Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:01 pm

This came out last year. I just watched the show on TV this evening. My first thought was that Wonder Woman had to be #1, and I was right. I do think they should have included Emma Peel. Anybody you think was left out? How about Lwaxana Troy?

I had never seen several of the shows. I had seen Scully, however, and maybe I am missing something, but she didn't seem sexy to me.

Gillian Anderson is very pretty. Sexy is a bit of a stretch for her Skully character, but maybe they are acknowledging that some guys go for suits and a strong confident woman.

Ah yes, Jeri Ryan... or; 'how to ruin Star Trek Voyager in one fell swoop.'

Never has there been a more obvious example of 'oh the ratings are slipping, lets put in a new sexy girl to try and boost them again.' To be fair it worked but even at the time when I was at that most tentative age I could see that for what it was and was rather scornful of the character as a consequence.

No, then my vote went to Michelle Forbes and to be fair it still would today.

Michelle Forbes is certainly beautiful. (Ensign Ro, for those who don't know)

I like Michelle Forbes, too. I wonder if they redo the list if Joanne Kelly of "Warehouse 13" will make it?

As for 7 of 9, I liked her character. No doubt, she had the Barbie Doll thing going on, but Jeri Ryan was excellent in the role, and 7 was probably the most interesting character on an otherwise boring show.

Valen should see this list. LOL!

Edited to add: They left off Claudia Christian! And Claudia Black!
