So, yeah, I hope nobody thinks I'm crazy for this because I know I'm still kind of a stranger around this place, but you all seem like pretty cool cats, so I felt comfortable posting this. But anyway, as some of you know Talon and I are getting married next year-July 24th, 2010 to be exact- and you guys mean A LOT to my little Dinosaur Head Talon, so we wanted to include you in the festivities. I was gonna post wedding related stuff here in this thread to let you guys know how things are going, or get your opinions on things, e.tc.. And of course if anyone else here becomes engaged, or already is, or just has their own suggestions they are VERY welcome and encouraged to post it.
Alright, just to get things started here a few pics of wedding gowns I have picked out. Gimme your input, my dears!

Re: The Wedding Thread
Such a personal decision! Its hard to give any comments of real value because I don't know your tastes. Because you asked I will give you some observations based on my personal taste only served with a giant "but he's just some man I don't even know" grain of salt
Claudette (#1) doesn't do a lot for me, but I'm not a big fan of organza so I'm prejudiced. Even so, I think the ribbon belt is a mistake. It looks like an after thought, and detracts from the otherwise pretty bodice's clean line to the skirt.
Allison (#2) is my least favorite. I don't think the flowers look as elegant as they do in dress 3, and the back is very plain making no statement at the alter. I do like the asymmetrical wrap of the bodice though.
Rhianna Royale (#3) is really soft and elegant and I think its back is by far the most pretty. Its interesting because it seems simple, but there is actually a lot going on.
I really love the bodice part of the Mary model (#4). The beading is very nice, I like the peaked neckline, and it has a touch of the asymmetrical aspect that worked for dress 2. I have a feeling the gathering on the skirt looks prettier in person than it does in a catalog photo, but it only strikes me as "ok" compared to the top part.

Re: The Wedding Thread
What fun!
My pick is Allison. Allison (#2)made me catch my breath. It is romantic but not overly busy. I'd even like something a bit less busy that this is, even, without the flowers on the hip, perhaps.
Claudette (#1) seems overwhelming with so much fabric. And the ribbon seems a bit ingenue. Remove the ribbon and about 20 yards of fabric and it is a pretty dress.
Rhianna, (#3) sorry but it looks as though the dress has the pox. Sorry if this is your favorite. Removing all the bumpy places, and especially if the skirt is of a rich lace, then this could be a very pretty and elegant dress.
Mary (#4) is pretty fabric, and nicer than Claudette, but again so much fabric.
As The M, said, I don't know your tastes, your age, your background (all personal information which should not be disclosed anyway), so you have to go with what you like.

Re: The Wedding Thread
*lol* Yeah, I kinda figured it would be a hard thing to do with me being "an anonymous crazy" on the internet and you guys, like you said, not really knowing my body shape, looks, personal tastes, or anything like that. But I thought it would be fun thing for the community anyway-I know I'm enjoying myself so far! *lol*
But here's a little info that may help-it will be an elegant Victorian Garden themed summer wedding, in doors. My flowers are roses and peonies in shades of blush and cream, while my wedding colors themselves are sky blue & bubble gum pink. I have 10 bridesmaids and Talon has six groomsmen (I'm trying to convince him to get at least 2 more since 2 of my maids are juniors and therefore don't need-need an escort), and the dress color will be ivory because it suits my skin tone much better (pale with yellow/olive undertones). Oh, and I'm walking down the isle to Pachelbel Cannon in D Minor.
Oh and it's funny because you guys each picked out my top 2 dresses, but you each hated the other one. *lol* I guess I'm no better off than when I started. Oh well, I'm really having fun though, and I won't really know what to make a final decision on until I try the dresses next week. Wish me luck! ^_^

Oh, and I almost forgot! This is an open wedding invitation to anybody on this forum that would like to come to the wedding, like, for realsies. So, to anybody willing to travel to eastern Kentucky: we're glad you thought enough of us to come and we promise you'll be taken care of (and by that I mean we'll slip a triple X emblazoned jug of moonshine into everyone's suit case & wish you the best of luck)!

Re: The Wedding Thread
Oh fun thread!! I can't make up my mind on the gowns!!!!! If it is to be a victorian wedding, have you considered an actual antique wedding gown from that period? Anyway, whatever you choose, I'm sure you will look lovely. I wish I could afford to travel, I would love to go to your wedding, but alas, I cannot.
Has Talon seen the dresses?

Re: The Wedding Thread
well you could get all of them!
one for each husband.
I liked #1 Claudette the best.
what are the Japanese nails for? the picture is to small to really see them.
the wedding invitation page is down.

Re: The Wedding Thread
It's okay Ariel, we know you'd come if you could. *hugs* ^_^ And no, he hasn't, but he's pretty darn adamant about NOT seeing the dress! He's just traditional like that he says.
Gah! Just my luck that the link wasn't working. -_-' They do regular site maintenance on Etsy.com, usually in the wee hours of the morning. It seems to be working now though, try it again. ^_^ And I planned on wearing the nails on my wedding day, but they may be just a bit too over the top, I dunno.....the pearl ones were nice, and maybe just demure enough for these festivities. Just clickies on the picture and it will take you to a page of just that set of nails, then clickies on the bottom of the pic where it says "larger image" and you should be able to see them pretty well. Thank you guys for all of your input! ~*^_^*~

Tee hee, here's our wedding favors! They're gonna be so awesome. I'm going to pick the simple monogram with blue lines on half of the bottles, and pink on the other half.

*lol* Yeah, I'm only marrying Talon for his money. After I do away with him, I'm moving onto the next rube, and this cycle will just continue until I have enough money to retire on my own private island.

Re: The Wedding Thread
Ack! Girl thread! Ack!
On the other hand, a co-worker is getting married in late december, and their wedding is going to be at the Louisiana Castle.
The good thing is, being just a guest, I do not have to wear a kilt. It's a little too cold that time of year for that.
We now return you to your girl thread.
Ack! Ack!!
