Well, this sucks. I'm sorry to harsh everybody's mellow, but I got a message from my friend today.

Brace yourself for some bad news... I hate to drop a bombshell on you - but here it is: When my Dr. said I was ‘cancer free’ just a few weeks ago is no longer true. The Dr. was wrong. The biopsy I had done to test for shingles shows that I still have breast cancer. I have no tumors, which is why the scans didn’t show anything, but the breast cancer has made a rare presentation. I’m told it’s ‘dermal lymphatic invasion with skin involvement’. Evidently some breast cancer cells were resistant to the chemo drugs and the radiation I took. They were in the lymphatic system and started to grow and involve the skin on my back and breast. I started two different types of chemo on Friday Feb 18th. My fight continues and once again I’m asking for prayers… I'm going to give it everything I've got, but we're all shocked. Hanging in there though!

Update on my friend. She's going to Houston for treatment. I'm not sure if it's experimental or new or Houston is just the only place she can get the treatment she needs -- I tried to find her Facebook post about it, couldn't. Here's her latest, posted yesterday:

Cancer Update: Finished 3rd round of most recent chemo - hair's gone again Feeling VERY tired, can't sleep well - having to take pain meds. Heading back to MD Anderson in Houston next week for 3 month follow-up. For the most part, I don't see much improvement... I'll see what Dr says. Please continue to pray for me and send good thoughts my way. Thanks everyone!
