This is a game that the OOOFers* of old SciFi Sites still play in the dark recesses where they keep us. It is a version of "20 Questions" but is not limited to any specific number of questions ...
The IT Poser** presents a description or characteristic of the "IT" and then other players post questions (limited to 2 each time) that are answerable with a yes or no. This continues until someone correctly guesses what "IT" is. As a reward, they then become the IT poser for the next round. Overall, pretty simple; the game has been going on with variable success for a while.
A few tips:
Though the IT poser must answer truthfully, honest obfuscation keeps the game fun.
Occasional clues can be helpful if things get bogged down.
Sometimes an answer cannot be justifiably answered with a pure yes or no ... a semi-explanatory "sorta" is acceptable.
A running list of y/s/n completed answers can be helpful.

** that is "poser" as in question, not "poseur" thankyouverymuch.

IT does not light up.
IT does have different colored lights on IT at different times, but this is a new phenomenon, and not in any way characteristic (or a necessity) of IT.

YES: bigger than a breadbox
Sorta: actually red, occasionally has different colored lights
no: alive, lights up

Does it reside primarily on Earth?
