YAR! CARD GAME.
Not in a board game though.

IT was a mistake.

Pr0-T1p: It may have resulted in fictional deaths.
Pr0-T1p: IT was so imbalanced, It brought down 'the meta' like 'a house of cards'.
Pr0-T1p: It's not so much related to RPG Gaming as it is to gaming.

Yes: Happened in the last 100 years, Happened in the last 50 years, Last 20 years, Last 10 years, Related to a Card Game.
Sorta: American, "obscure internal consistency", in print media.
No: Happened in the last 5 years, political, scientific, Fashion, didn't kill a soul, Star Wars Episode 1, Movie Related, Television show related (including Netflix), comics related, A headline, in the News, internet related, computer related, RPG-gaming related, Related to a board game.

Time to start researching :P

Did the mistake occur in a specific competition (such as a "world poker match")?
Did the mistake occur in the printing of a deck of a more recent card game (such as "Cards Against Humanity")?

Is IT the "Mistake" card from the Ug-I-Oh game?
(if not, then it's time for Q or Merle to jump in with the correct answer ... that's what usually seems to happen about this time in the game)

Was the mistake part of the initial release card set (rather than an expansion pack)?
Was the mistake a misprint (as opposed to, say, an unintended consequence of game mechanics)?

Did the card game involved also require a die or dice?
Did the card game involved originate in Japan?

Is the card game containing the mistake "Magic, The Gathering"?
(if not) Does the game have a science-fiction/fantasy theme?

So, I've been doing a bit of searching, and found that "Magic, The Gathering" has a more obscure and obsessive history than aviation, Star Wars, or even maybe Dr Who.

IT is going to take a while.
