Japan Tsunami video

Postby The Master » Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:21 pm

An incredible first person raw video of the tsunami showing how quickly it came through one town. My heart goes out to the Japanese struggling to deal with this massive disaster.

Horendous! On the other hand, and not to make light of the event, I'd like to know who built that red building that was floating along at the end of the vid. I might have a job for them...

It didn't take long from some water lapping on the street to trucks floating down it.

Just as with Katrina and other disasters many pets will be displaced. If you would like to support efforts to help the animals affected by the Japan disasters globalanimal.org has a great list or organizations that can use your help.

actually hold off on any "help" right now.
The German disaster relief just pulled all of its people out ( they is the THW and the Knights orders. )
The reason was, they could not help and said they were just in the way.
The Japanese disaster relief organisations are extremely well organised.
The areas that the Japanese disaster relief can not get to no one can get to.
also due to the culture and language barrier they were not able to efficiently help.

Japan has said that they will ask for help when they need it.

Unless you have super powers and can fix the nuclear power plant.

I read some news today that said InterAction (an umbrella group for U.S. relief agencies active abroad) advises donors to give to agencies with partner organizations in Japan that would be best placed to spend funds wisely.

"Find an organization that can demonstrate to your satisfaction that they have meaningful links in Japan, and give money to them."

If one good thing can be found in this tragedy, it's the hundreds of millions of dollars that people from all over the World have already donated. Just when you think people suck, they go and do something like that.
I'm going to die the way I've lived...poor, screaming, and naked.

I heard other Countries pulled out because of the radiation leaks. These poor people have suffered one thing after another and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

The New Zealand team came back on Sunday March 20. However they went to Japan straight after working in the quake hit city of Christchurch NZ. I have no info that it was due to radiation.
