Neuro, I know what you mean about the interesting people and conversations. :)

Ariel, thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my sister. This will be her second kidney transplant. The first is failing. It will be 3 years since the doctors told her she needed a new one, but a week ago she got the word that she is near the top of the list now. She is not on dialysis, barely, since that diminishes the chance of the transplant being successful, so I hear.

I hear from Brad (The Master) from time to time, mainly if the site is having problems. He seems fine.

Sorry to hear this about your sister, Bmat. Good that she is at the top of the list now.

Says you joined 2005, Bmat. That was 14 years ago! I can't believe it..

And that's just on the current iteration of the Site. There was a black and green version before this one.

It used to be archived, but I don't know if the archive still exists.

Bmat, you and your sister are in my prayers.
I'm going to die the way I've lived...poor, screaming, and naked.

It is hard to believe it was that long ago. And the vines went down before that, when SV was still green.

I don't know about the archive either. I'll shoot the Master off an email and ask.

Thank you, Q. Prayers greatly appreciated. Nice to see you again. How have you been?

Here is the reply I received:

Sort of http://speculativevision.com/forum/ and http://speculativevision.com/gallery/ are there, but you can't click a site menu or it takes you out of those pages. You can't make posts either.

At the end of March she has an all day visit to the hospital where they have it set up with medical/ advising staff in separate rooms, each with a specialty such as finances, diet, health... can't think what else- there are at least 7. Each patient is called one by one into each of the rooms for discussion with the specialist. We have done this before when my sister got her first transplant. So my husband brings something to read and I accompany my sister into each of the rooms. She does have all of her required medical tests finished. This week she has a cardiology appointment which I'd say is the major one. If the cardiologist says no, then that is that. If he gives her the go ahead, then she should be called within a few weeks of the all day appointment. Especially since the kidney she has now is below the danger point.

Thank you for the prayers.

Update on my sister who needs a kidney transplant. After the all day appointment in March she was judged eligible to be on the list, which is excellent news. She still needs a couple tests and will need them before she is offered a kidney, but that she is on the list is such a relief!

I haven't followed it for some time, but I was actually thinking about it earlier today. Wondering how they're all doing. Will have to get back into it.
