"Truly." Rebunanta jerked the chain back, dragging some strange, rotting thing. He quickly sliced it through with the blade, then whirled around, searching for more.

Rebunanta focused his chakra. Gotta get this just right... He jumped high into the air. He swung one of his kusarigama and embedded it into a tree branch. Rebunanta allowed himself to hang in the air for a moment, then threw his other kusarigama into the chest of another one of the things.

Ryu launched himself into the fray, striking in a frenzy of blows that moved faster than the eye could follow, his sword a silver flash as it cut through flesh and bone, scattering remnants of his enemies across the ground.

Leaping back to a safe distance Ryu sheated his sword and quickly unsheathed it, a razor sharp wave shot forward, dicing several of the undead in half.

Rebunanta kept on swinging from tree to tree. He noticed Ryu slicing his way through the undead. Rebunanta swung his kusarigama down through an undead's chest, then lassoed another one and pulled it into a tree. The impact crushed it. Rebunanta felt a familiar energy from the undead, one that he knew was dangerous. "Ryu, let's get out of here!" He threw a chain down to his swordsman friend.

Ryu grabbed onto the chain and began to pull himself up.

As Ryu climbed the chain Rebunanta kept watching the undead surge forward. There must have been at least a hundred. Occasionally he threw his other kusarigama at an undead that got too close to the chain. As soon as Ryu pulled himself up onto the branch, Rebunanta threw his weapon onto another branch, where it lodged securely. "You know how to swing?" He gave the other kusarigama to Ryu.

"You're joking, right?" Ryu said, making a daring leap off the branch and swinging up onto the next with athletic grace.

Rebunanta swung after him, making a path to the north, where he remembered the camp. As he swung he drifted into thought.

That energy...I remember....

Images of a dark cave, filled with unnatural sounds and strange beasts went through his head. Rebunanta shook his head to clear it.

Where is this place. I have to find it! Maybe there I will remember more about my past. But I need to keep it from Ryu. He is honorable, and would try to go with me...I don't want him to get involved. He could get hurt.

Rebunanta continued swinging, hoping that all of this would make more sense later.

Ryu followed, every now and then punctuating his swings with a downward slice of his katana at the grasping hands of the undead creatures.

Rebunanta kept swinging. He thought he saw the merchant camp ahead. "Follow me!" He called to Ryu. As he went on he noticed the undead falling back. Almost as if they were just...giving up. Or maybe their mission had been fulfilled, and Rebunanta had been driven away for a reason. I don't like that idea one bit....

They both landed just outside the camp, then carefully walked forward into view.

"Whose there? Answer me or we'll attack!" Ryu and Rebunanta heard a voice, but neither could tell if it was male or female.

"Alright. Here we are." Rebunanta whispered to Ryu. "If this is a trap, I want you to get out of here quick." He walked into the fading sunlight.

Alcorlin sighed slightly and tried to remember what had possessed her to take this job rather than moving on towards the south with Nightwhisper. She had been here for to days, and had barely even managed to stay awake on watch. NOTHING ever happ.... Her thoughts were interrupted quite rudely by the sounds of fighting drawing closer.

Her swords sighed as she slid them softly from their scabbards. She grinned at the thought of having something to play with and slid silently through the trees towards the noise, only to have the sounds stop. Peering through the trees, she frowned as she saw two men walking towards the camp. Sheathing one sword she stepped back to a more defensible position.

"Who is there? Answer, or we'll attack!" She hoped that the guard on the other side of the camp had heard her, she had no idea how good these two warriors were. She stepped out into the open, facing the trespassers squarely, her black hood still hiding her face.
