Rowenteth paused, watching the creatures fade and die. He turned and looked at Draco, nodding greatfully. He looked down at Korena and let a slight smile spread across his face before he faded away, the wave and Draco's aura fading with him.

Draco trembled slightly, then managed to stand, carrying the women with him as he did. He had survived, and he had kept his oath...and that was all that he had expected.

He stared down at the city. It would be best to leave now. There was no place for him here now...even if the order had survived. He had to protect these too, and soon the order would be moving...even if it had survived. Perhaps he would find it again soon, but for now he had to leave this place.

He looked over at the stranger, "This is a parting of ways then?"

Wolf stood at the edge of the tower, his body was crossed with wounds; gashes, cuts, tears, bruises and bite marks but that did not seem to bother him. He stood looking over the ruined city. He'd failed to kill him. There was a grim look of determination in his eyes, at least now he knew vergil was still alive. For so long he'd wandered without purpose, but now... now he had a reason to live. He had to kill Vergil.

Hearing the boy's words he turned. He didn't respond, swinging his gigantic sword over his shoulder he turned and headed towards the staircase, a grim look etched on his face.

Draco nodded in understanding. That man had his own purpose and would not be held back from it for anything. His place was not with this group, it was out hunting Vergil. Slowly he followed the man down the stairs, out into the streets. Here they would part ways...there was no place for any of them here, but Draco had a place to go.

Below the city the Grand Elder looked around. Nearly a dozen of the other elders lay dead, their life force drained to maintain the barrier around the temple. Those inside, from a few merchants and nobles that had been seeking aid...to memebers of the other orders that had been asked to visit, even the mute elf child and her mother that had been brought for questioning affter the event in the temple of Krawl remained alive.

He stared down at where the young drakes and remaining elders had gathered. The order had survived...but at a great cost. They must seek out a new temple in a new city...and they must protect the last reminants of this city. For after everything, they were all that was left of Striden.

It began to snow, the soft flakes of ice coating the city as the fires died out. Wolf headed out into the blizzard, his footsteps quickly disappearing in the fast laying powder. Without direction and without hope Wolf trudged through the snow storm, a tragic figure clad in black.

Draco stepped through the city carefully, reaching the gate with both women still under his arms. Korena had gone unconscious too now, but there was nothing to be done about it. Behind him the city lay in ruins.

He had heard of a small village nearby, one that would offer a small amount of protection for the time at least. He stared at the falling snow. Even the most horrid images could be hidden by the delicate white flakes...a beatutiful lie hiding the mud and blood beneath. Soon the city would be covered in it, and there would be little trace. Merchant traveling this way would find ruins and the news would spread of Striden's fall...

For now though, in the decietful snow, Draco began his long journey.

Mordachai returned to the Platmiesian Monastary, it was cold and quiet, the great wooden doors hung crooked and smashed on their hinges. He filled hes satchel with supplies that had not been destroyed in the destruction. He even found a weather proof case and put inside some of the oldest documents this temple had possesed. He was about to leave when he tripped over a solid form in the snow outside, it was one of the perple clad monks. Mordachai stared sadly down at the ravaged body, he turned and once more entered the Monastary to look after the dead. When he had finished there he clensed the city, street by street, house by house.
The others were long gone now, and Mordachai knew he couldn't go back to traveling as he had done before he met up with Vergil.
Mordachai returned to the temple, his temple in his city. The ruler of this city of death.
