"We have to get out of here." Draco swatted several demons off the side of the tower with a tail of the red aura, then crushed another underfoot.

Wolf did not hear the boy, lost in the fighting. As he caved in the skull of one demon another leapt at his back. He turned, carving the air with his blade and catching the leaping monster in mid air, splitting it in two as the edge cut through it's body and sunk deep into the stone roof of the tower. Another enemy approached from behind and Wolf spun on the spot, dragging the blade around behind him with one hand. The tip sparked as it scraped across the floor and he caught the beast in the ribs, slicing it clean in two.

Draco reached down and lifted the two women, holding them protectively as he lashed out with kicks and the aura. Demon skulls cracked and blood sprayed, each demon lasting no more than one hit, but their sheer numbers begining to wear on him.

Wolf continued, ferociously slaying all in his way. But for each demon that was killed another grew in it's palce, fuelled by the blood and corpses of their fallen brethren they swarmed without end. The only thing to do was stay alive until the night passed.

Draco lowered himself to the floor. He pulled the women closer to him, the glow of his opal growing even more powerful and mixing with the aura around him. Slowly a wave began to spread from him, envoloping everything it touched in warming light and pushing the demons back. It grew slowly, first protecting only him and the women, then slowly filling most of the upper tower.

Wolf felt a slight burning sensation as the wave of aura touched him, sweeping over his body. Still the demons came, pushing their way through the barrier.

"What do you think you're doing? Get up and fight!" Wolf barked, noticing Draco.

"Do you wanna die here? In this hell?"

Draco stayed put. He could not fight..he had given his oath to protect this woman, and if he set her down to fight the demons would take her. They would take her, and Sylvis, and then him. If he were going to die he would stay right in this place, right with them.

A shining figure materialized in front of him again, he recognized it as the one that had come to Iea before. This time though, the shimmering form was not transparent. He was solid and real as he turned on the demons, vaporizing them in a touch.

Draco stared. He had...he had made a place that this creature could come to. That was what the wave had been...

Rowenteth kept pace with the demons, his heritage keeping him moving as quickly as they did.

Mordachai was furious at himself for being so blind, he had aided K'Larkh and had no idea he had done so. Bowed his head and began to pray, any demon that came near him immediately fell back to the gore they had come from. He stood and looked out the window upon the wasted city of Striden.

Draco stayed very still, allowing the glowing being to fight for him. It seemed to want to protect Korena as much as he did, maybe more...if that were possible. The demons withered at its touch, shattering into blood and gore and melting back down to the floor.

Mordachai looked over to the dragon cultists and Korena, and apparently Rowenteth as well, nothing would surprise him anymore.
Mordachai made his way over to Wolf, looking to see if he needed any assistence.

Korena felt Draco's steadying hand on her. She saw horrid abominations through her half closed eyes, rising up only to be struck down by Rowenteth. He'd fully materialized...put himself in physical danger for this. Never before had he appeared before any but her...and never before had he done what he was doing now.

Draco kept Korena and Sylvis tucked close to him, the keeping the wave firmly centered and real as it pulsed slightly, detering some of the weaker demons with its aura. The ones that did get through were abolished by the stranger, Mordachai, and the being of light. How long they would last he did not know, but if he could hold the wave...the creature of light would continue to protect them.

As the first new rays of silver-blue moonlight pierced the veil of red and black the demons ceased their assault, melting away into the night. There remained only the clear night sky, the city below was unnaturally silent, there were no more screams, no more sounds of battle, only an eerie silence. Fires raged and buildings crumbled, destroyed by the onslaught of unearthly monsters. The rivers of blood that had cascaded through the streets had dried up, leaving only the ominous image of a pentagram, stained on the city. A mark that would never erode, a testament to the horror of that night...
