"Even if you don't recognize the name you must have heard the rumours. Mass slaughter throughout the world, entire cities left in ruin. If he finds them..." Kain pointed to the travellers.

"...It'll be a massacre."

"There's more reason for us to stay."Sora chimed. "We could help protect the people here."

"There aren't enough of us. We need to get them moving to a safe place." Kain insistantly.

"I heard rumours of a fort to the north. Apparently a great army is stationed there. Take them there." Kain said.

"I'll head in the opposite direction." He said darkly before pulling up the hood of his cloak.

"Well, I'm staying until I get an explanation."Sora said staying firm. She was a bit uneasy, though. Animals knew when a place was safe and there were hardly any around anymore.

Sora stood her ground. She was not going to give up-not without a fight.

Kain had finished talking, the sooner he parted ways with these people the sooner they would be out of harms way. Turning on his heel he began to make his way in te other direction.

The Scarlet Drakes

Postby t_tibke » Wed Feb 08, 2006 5:47 pm

Going north still, the refugees continued to follow the strange dying flames left in the sky by the morning passings of the phoenix. Few knew their destination. Indeed, few knew more than the fact that they had no place left to call home.

The air was cold, and the snow beneath the feet of the refugees crunched with each weary step. They knew not how much time had passed since they had left, and yet it seemed as though the world now turned as swiftly as the scattering birds overhead.

Strange their flight was, for both great black rooks swooped with the breezes, and small, frantically chirping sparrows went in all directions. Something seemed amiss.

Standing between the departing mass of refugees, along with the other strange folk, was Sora. She stood her ground, still uncertain of the direction she would take.

And so it was that southward turned Kain, his visage plain; and yet he moved with purpose. He had said they were coming for him. Who was coming? What was coming? He had said “The Crimson Knight." The others seemed to wonder still.
