I like them both.
Although I like Manga because of the original story line that is underfed from what the author originally wanted.
I also like the Anime mainly due to the Lazy American Syndrome.

I never read manga myself... too expensive... so I have to get by on whatever scraps of anime I happen to find on tv.

i prefer anime. manga's are good, indeed they have the original storyline. but i get confused real quickly with all the dark lines, can't exactly make out what's being shown. also, the time I enjoy reading it is far shorter than the 23 minutes of anime.
I prefer anime, mainly because of the flashy fighting scenes :P no, i think that a certain mood can be better transferred through tv (when done right), and personally, i get more involved with watching the series than reading them. like in my FMP review, i was absolutely frozen with fear. i don't see it happening with a manga though.
i also like the graphics better. more and more 3D is being used, also in DN Angel. but the color, the motion, just everything i like better about anime's.
and the manga's are really quite expensive. downloading is another option... .

Honestly I don't know which I prefer more; I've been watching anime for years and years now, but I've only just begun reading mangas, though I have spent hours in book stores reading them(I'm to cheap to actually buy them). I guess if I really had to make a choice, it'd be anime, but only because I've been into it for way longer than mangas.

I think the Manga is best. Because, one: no horrible dubbed voices, two: more detail is in the manga, and three: with manga, you can get more for you monies.

I used to think I could not live without the lovely flashy battles of anime, but since I have started to collect manga, I have changed my opinion!!

The dubbing on manga can be just as bad as in the anime, but I found that the storyline was so incredibly mangled in some animes that I prefer the original ideas more!

For example, in Hellsing, the manga is all about vampire nazis eating babies and trying to take over the world...That certainly didn't come across in the anime...and the manga was much more violent. The character of Alucard was much more adult as well.

Also, in Utena, half the storyline is left out! And the Dub is horrendous!!! It seemed like such a ridiculous concept! And why the heck has the president got pink hair???

They went way out of the way with Escaflowne...

Some mangas are very similar to the anime, for example Chrono Cruisade.

Sorry, just a bit of a rant ;) I do like anime as well :P

I'd argue that you get more for your money with manga. They're insanely expensive per issue, wheras I can watch anime for free either on TV or online. So I can get entire series (in dub and in sub) for absolutely nothing, or I can pay hundreds of dollars for only a small part of a story.

Magus, you can get manga HERE for about 30$ per issue (about 3 books per each). I'd hate to think that the stuff was hundreds of dollars in Illonois ;)

The most I've payed for a manga was $20. And, Magus, I'm talking about buying an amine DVD vs buying a manga. Don't you buy any anime???? :geek:
