So what did all of you think of Rurouni Kenshin. I haven't seen it all yet but I like what I have seen so far, up to them aushi entering to fight shishio. I enjoy the strong connections to japanease history, having read up on it quite a bit since last summer. I also enjoy the drama, action, characters and overall story. It did get a little preachy at times, but doesn't even begin to reach the levels set by Tekken. I enjoyed the quirkyness of Kenshin's speach, that I did. Everyone that I know who've seen it enjoy it the same as I, which is just my sister who's now in college. So what were the rest of your opinions?

I forgot to mention the music. I love it! I memorized one of the songs on my tenor sax and my keyboard! Nicely done says I.

It is one of my favorites. I love the story line and how he was always fighting himself not to kill anyone.
Have you ever watched Samuri X Betrayal? It is nothing but his past so it really lets you know about him.

No, I haven't gotten a chance to see it, but hope to soon. Is it good?

It's been a while but Ive watched Kenshin and found it to be pretty good. I think there is a good balance between the action sequences and story/character development. I also really enjoyed the time setting it was placed in, a time of profound cultural upheaval during Japan's modernization. You get to see a bit of what the writers and artists who made the anime think about that era.

yeah. They don;t seem to like democracy (drunken people in the restaraunt argue about democracy and kenshin kicks them out and preaches to them). But I agree. This show is actually got me interrested on japanease history and have since read several other very good books on the subject, both fictional and non.
Rurouni Kenshin
to me its the most wonderful thing

AWESOME ANIME, TOP FIVE FAV.
"They are a curious thing, these emotions. How they fly in the face of logic, how they overrule the most basic instincts. Because, in the measure of time, in the measure of humanity, we sense those self-indulgent instincts to be a weakness, we sense that the needs of the community must outweight the desires of the one. Only when we admit to our failures and recognize our weaknesses can we rise above them. Together." -Drizzt Do'Urden
