That was the last Herman saw of that dog, he spent most of his time hyped up on coffee to avoid depression.

Herman drank so much coffee he found himself unable to function without it.

With shakey hands Herman began giving away his precious spinach. He discovered his neighbor, the sailor with the squint, loved the stuff.

But the sailor with a squint had a luscious girlfriend, Olive Oyl, whom Herman couldn't keep his eyes off of.

Olive opened the door, and there on her stoop was what appeared to be a dead person, what with the flowers scattered about and all.

Earlier that day Olive had heard of the dead rising in areas out west, and assumed that at her very door was one of the living dead.
