A shy wave

Postby pixibubbles » Wed Oct 19, 2011 6:12 pm

*waves*

Hi everyone. As the title implies a rather shy wave from a new member.

I guess a little background maybe? I've always wanted to write fiction (specifically fantasy) but somehow got sidetracked into the business world and sucked into writing jargonese (bleurgh). Alright it paid pretty well, but always left me feeling slightly unclean and a little... tainted.

Anyway, long story to shortish I broke free long enough to write about one and a half novels- one of which is now finished to a submittable standard (at least according to a test group of readers who should know- think editors and ppl formerly involved in the old Crystal Ship) but so far I seem utterly unable to take the final step and am hoping that maybe some serious anonymous feedback will either convince me they're right, or tell me what I need to do until I feel right.

Well- I did say shortISH so hi everyone- look forward to meeting you all x (or I would be if not so used to hiding behind cushions and blushing instead of talking to new people  )

And hello then!
Honored to make your acquaintance; I hope that you will feel more fulfilled with your novelistic fantasy than your business fantasy writing, and washed clean in the icey waters of our adulation (we're not all that bad, really).

thanks for the lovely welcome
i'm sure you are all lovely- that's nwhy i signed up after noseying around. That and this place seems to be pretty unqiue. You'd think with a screen name and keyboard to hide behind I could be a little less shy- you'd think lol

Ah well- give us a few weeks and I'll hopefully snap out of it x

Greetings and welcome.

Send the novel out into the world. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
More rampant silliness.

Oh I wish it were so simple. But there are so many questions and worries to overcome first. Is it too long? Is it good enough? Is the synopsis right? (probably not yet) etc and forever on.

*buries head in hands* I think i might be a hopeless case.

Hello and welcome! No, you are not a helpless case. One day at a time and a little encouragement and you will be just fine. :D
